Can I change TA's??

I just got a better quote from Dreams Unlimited, than what I already have booked with Sams Club (whom I'm not thrilled with, bad communication, never returns my emails or answers my questions!). Can I swap the reservation to Dreams. Sams doesn't have any penalties for cancelling, but I really need to keep the same stateroom, as it is next to friends we are traveling with. Can Dreams get me the same room? Is it worth $125 difference to change? What options do I have?

Sam's Club would have to agree to release the reservation - something TA's don't normally do. Typically you have to cancel your existing ressie and make a completely new ressie with the new TA.

If they won't return your call, you are not too likely to even get in touch with them to ask them to release the ressie. And the previous post is right--they won't, they'll offer you the chance to cancel.

I would speak with DU, the agent you want, and work with them to se if they can be standing by to be "next in line" for your desired stateroom, then do the cancellation so that DU then jumps on the newly released stateroom. This probably takes the skills of the juggler from the Welcome variety show and three phone lines and two high speed connections all going at once, but if the room is yours, and you want to cancel and re-book into the same room, there must be a way to do it.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid that was the situation. I wish I would have just booked with dreams to begin with.

Isn't it possible for the first TA to release the room back to DCL? I thought that I read where someone did that before.

It's "possible" but again not likely.

Are you saying that even if I do cancel my Sams ressie, that the room will not automatically revert back to DCL?

Talk with DU about it. Perhaps the room on the other side of your friends is available, or the one next to that (just in case you can't get your same room number). IMHO, I think it is worth cancelling and rebooking for the $125 AND better service. Good luck.

So Logan, how was your trip? Any trip reports anywhere?
