Can I celebrate this?

I was thinking today about how my sister got completely screwed out of celebrating her 21st birthday in May. Some really bad stuff happened to her about 3 weeks prior and then it was all rehashed on the cruise that my extended family had planned to celebrate. Our December DW trip was her idea and since it is me, mom, DD and sis, I can guarantee there will be no drama to screw it up for her. I am thinking about editing our Chef Mickeys ADR (the rest of our ADRs are kind of boring) to say that we are celebrating a birthday, or even going so far as to mention it at check-in so we can get her a button (is that how we do that?). I'm totally not trying to get any free stuff but if one person makes some kind of positive comment to her it would be completely worth it.

Of course you can! Sounds like no one got to celebrate her birthday, so why not celebrate now??? Just mention that you're celebrating her birthday, it will be fine. They like celebrations.

Go for it! I think that is a lovely idea and your sister will be deeply touched. There is nothing wrong with having belated celebrations. The difference is when people try and pretend it is their actualy birthday when it isn't - but they ask for ID for that. Celebrating is the theme for the year! Be sure and mention to the restaurant that you are celebrating a special birthday when you make the reservation and when your server comes to the table once you are seated. Not everyone can get to Disney on specific dates and sometimes you have to pick the best conveneint time. Disney WANTS you to be celebrating! Have fun. It will be very special. You can even order a cake if you want to go all out!

You could buy her a cake and have it delivered to your table. That would probaby mean more to her than a button or a stranger saying "Happy Birthday."
