We are going end of May. We did the DDP last Sept for free, but now DS is almost 2, big eater, and I don't want to have to shell out of pocket for counter service, snack, and whatever sit down is not a buffet/family style (we have a few of those for ADRs). It is more a convenience thing, I don't want to have to worry about it. SO...can I purchase the DDP for him? Or is it a hard and fast rule about ages?? Also, I already paid for our package in full, will that be a problem?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

You would have to change his age to over 3 and purchase a park ticket too.

Keep in mind that you could ask them to put him on the package as a "child 3-9" and then save his admission to use once he turns 3. Just because you have purchased admission for him, you aren't required to use it now. However, as little as almost-2 year olds typically eat, you may find that you're better off paying OOP for everything anyway.

Remember that at buffets and family style places, he can eat as much as he wants for free.

I have 3 boys 11, 7 and 4 and consider them big eaters. However, if we go someone like Cosmic Rays we can order 3 adult meals for hubby, DS11 and me and that is MORE than enough to feed the 5 of us.

Also, remember at buffet places kids under 3 eat for free.

I found the meals plenty big enough to share at both counter service and table service. This year I don't think that most kids meals are going to fill up my 7 year old as he eats more than his dad but he can eat his kids meal and eat half of mine if he wants because I'm not going to eat all that food.

Also, I think we have to keep in mind how much our kids really NEED to consume versus what they want to consume. At our house the boys are ALWAYS hungry and I just have to cut them off or let them eat carrots or apples otherwise they are going to gain too much weight and be fat.

We had friends with this problem last year. They decided to age their son up, but only had to pay for a 1 day ticket as that is all that is needed to get dining. I don't blame you for wanting for him to get his own food. Then you can order what you want and not have to get something that he would like every time :thumbsup2 .
