Hi everyone - this may be a silly question but we're considering buying into AKV when we head over to WDW in May. We usually travel in November and would want to have enough points to cover 2 weeks in a savannah view studio = 216.

Now I know that I have to buy a minimum of 150 points but do they only sell them in blocks of say 25 - or can I buy 216?

TIA

Disney will sell you any number of points - minimum 160 to start; after you are a member (with initial purchase through Disney or resale) min of 25. Max of 5000.? (something like that). If you want 216, you can buy 216.

The only caution I would give on this would be 216 points might sound great to you - but I'd recommend 220 pts. Why? In the case of future resale.

I remember going through resale points lists and seeing things like 88 points, 112 points, etc... All I kept thinking was glad you figured out what your vacations needed, but that may not work for me - so I just kept moving on to the "round" numbers...

I know it was all in my head, but something to consider. Besides, what happens that time you want to stay somewhere else and have to borrow points and the whole thing goes out of whack? I'd just recommend sticking to the "round" numbers.

Oh yeah -and while were at it - If you buy AKV from Disney - go with 2 contracts: a 160 and a 60 (or 56 - whatever you decide). The cost is the same, but gives you more flexibility in the future.

Thanks Chris - that's a really good point!

Just wanted to say  to Clare, and that I'm excited you two are looking to buy this trip! :thumbsup2

also you might want to consider a main contract and a seperate add on of 50 points (eg 170 and a 50) if there is any remote chance that you might need less points in the future, so you can sell off the 50 and perhaps purchase something else.
