Can I book tickets and resort package, first and add air later?

I want to know if I am able to book a package with room and tickets only, but still able to use Magical Express. If we add air later, can we still opt to use the Magical Express? If so, is there a difference or any changes?

Yes, you can book Magical Express as long as you have a WDW hotel reservation. You do not have to book your air travel through Disney to be entitled to use this free service. You can add ME later if you haven't booked your flight at the time you reserve your room.

In fact, unless you are getting some super good deal, I'd advise against booking air through Disney. You end up having much less control if you need to change something. I always recommend booking directly with the carrier that you choose.

Thank you for that information. I'm glad we won't be tied to only booking through Disney. It does seem as though we could get a better deal not booking air throught them. How would I add the Magical Express option?

Unless you're getting a really great air rate, there's almost no reason to book air at the time of the package booking. The biggest reason is that while your Disney package is fully cancellable up to 45 days out with a full refund, your air won't be. As to adding DME after the fact, just call Disney when you have your air confirmed and they'll add it on for you.

Just call CRO and have them add your flight info. Or you can call DME direct and have them add it. The direct number to DME is 1-866-599-0951.
