I think I can book two cabins for a future cruise, but in the past it was for family that was traveling with us on current cruise.

I think a friend wants to join us on a Bermuda cruise next year. Can I book for them?

You can book up to 2 rooms on the same future cruise that will both receive the onboard booking perks. You can put anyone's name on the reservations (they don't have to actually be on the cruise with you).

What kind of discount are you asking about?

The on board discount 10%? For instance, none on the NYE cruises. I seem to remember there were no on board booking discounts if you booked a NYC cruise, but I could be wrong.

As far as I know, the 10% deposit applies to cruises 7 nights or longer. For shorter cruises the deposit is 20%. The 10% discount on the cruise fare applies to all cruises not blacked out. The blog has dates that are blacked out http://disneycruiselineblog.com/201...ces-winter-2018-itineraries-january-aprilmay/ and there no NYC cruises blacked out. Maybe that was when NYC was a new departure port?

You get the 10% discount and an onboard account credit for any cruise that isn't blacked out. Blackout cruises are different every year- you have to check the list.
