I believe you need to purchase at least a one day pass through Disney when you check in to be eligible to purchase the DDP. Once you receive confirmation from expedia call Disney yourself and let them know that you would like to add the DDP and it shouldn't be a problem. All ears.net says you must purchase a magic your way package with at least one days admission to the parks and then you are O.K. to add DDP.Good luck!!
Be prepared for a negative response, though, just in case that's what you get.
In order to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, Guests must book a package consisting of a room and at least one day park admission for each Guest on the reservation.
A room-only reservation through an online travel agency, with or without airfare, may prohibit you from being able to turn it into a package and get the dining plan.
I called Disney reservations, and they were rude to me when I told them I booked with expedia, they said to call expedia because I could only add it through them,
Well, I called expedia who says they do not offer DDP!
Now what!
Either cancel your Expedia reservation and rebook directly through Disney or forget about DDP.
To get DDP it requires an undiscounted room, the DDP for everyone on the reservation for the number of nights of the reservation, and at least a one day MYW ticket (for same number of days) for each member of the party.
(If you have an AAA discount this is the only exception to undiscounted room.)
You chose Expedia, so you really need to go through them. If they won't offer it to you, then the only way you can get what you want is to cancel your reservations with Expedia and book with someone who will give you what you want.
