Can I book and cancel/switch or should I wait?

Hi! I'm going to the world in August, but I am also planning to go next August as well (probably first two weeks, so I can use the same PAP's)

I am hoping for either a discounted room with an AP holder rate or another free dining offer then, but I am already hearing things about rooms being booked up, so I'm not sure what is the best thing to do. Should I just book it and if something comes out, can I switch? Or am I better off waiting and seeing and hoping everything doesn't fill up.

Thanks!

Any time I "think" I am going to WDW, I call and make a room-only ressie. I can always call and cancel as long as I'm more that 5 days out from arrival.

For our upcoming Thanksgiving trip, I booked a room only ressie with AAA disc in March. DH didn't give me the OK that we were going until July.

Now I'm just waiting and hoping for a code.

I would go ahead and book it. That way you know you have a room where and when you want it. It's easy to cancel room only reservations if you sadly become unable to go!
