Can I book a 6 night package with an 8 day ticket and use the tickets before check in?

I'd like to stay 6 nights at AOA and get an 8 day ticket. I'd go to Disney parks a couple of days before I check in at AOA. Can I do that? Would my Magic Bands work those first couple of days?

Yes. You can use tickets associated with a package up to 10 days early. You just need to stop by a Guest Services location to do this. They are located outside of every park and one at Disney Springs.

Yup.

Personally, I would book the room as a room-only reservation and the tickets separately somewhere like UT for an additional discount. If you want the dining plan, you can always call and book a ticketless package.

Note that if you have tickets as part of the package, you won't be able to book your FP+ until you are onsite for the first two days. If you can book your tickets separately, I believe you would book the first 2 days at 30 days. I would check the FP+ thread in the Themes Park Board.

You mean they don't give you your ticket information to put on your My Disney Experience when you buy the package?

If I may... To be crystal clear, you’ll be able to make the FP+s for the onsite stay days at 60 days out. But you won’t be able to book the FP+s for the days before the package until you’re onsite and have done the process to make them active.

No, sorry, I wasn't clear. The package recognizes the tickets, starting with the package start date. So, say, your package starts on May 3rd and you want to use your tickets 2 days early, on May 1st. You have to get the tickets activated at Guest Relations, once you are onsite. You won't be able to make FP+ for May 1 and May 2 because the the tickets start when your package starts or when you get them activated early once onsite. No issue if you are using your tickets starting with your package date - May 3rd. This is not an issue with tickets bought separately because they are valid from the get-go.

i hope this is more clear. I haven't done this myself, but looked into this, and decided against the whole thing.

OP - it may make more sense for you to book a room only reservation and separately purchased tickets. There are pros/cons to that as well, but it may be worth looking into in your circumstances.
