Who was responsible for leading you to the path of the Disboards?

For me, it was Linda (LFG) The wonderful little pincart girl :)

Kathy

I found the the DIS by aacident. I was doing a search for advice on trip to WDW - looking for unusual things to do and ---VIOLA!!! The DIS.

How I found the collectors board would have to be through Nat & Kathie. I went to a meet that turned out to be a pin meet and the rest is history.

I wish I could answer that. Back in November I went on a quest to find as many full body Villain character pins. I wanted to make my own framed pin set as Disney didn't make one that I liked. I posted on some other board, couldn't tell you which one, and someone e-mailed me with directions to here. Wonder if that person knows what he/she started? I am now after or own almost every Villain pin made! and have over 200 traders!!!

Yes, It was Joette, the ever so Bouncing Tigger herself.

My family had always collected some sort of pin wherever we traveled.

Joette and I were in the middle of trading her St. Patricks Day O'Tigger for my Valentina.
Remember Joette? We both mentioned that we were going to WDW and she suggested this web site to help me plan my trip.

I have been on this board longer than Oct. 99. The boards just kept crashing and we would lose posts and everything. I even lost my SN for awhile.

I still enjoy coming here and reading the many posts. It's even better now that I have actually met a lot of the board members.

Pins are fun, friends are funner. (DS used to say funner all the time, now it is in my vocabulary.)

See Joette , I am still using my F's. I love my F pin that you gave me at the pin celebration. It's in my keeper bag along with a TON of memories.

I found the board because of my darling hubby Britt and He found it when someone a long time ago gave him a link to it to put on PinPics. It was pretty early in trading although I couldn't say when. I visited Pete's main website almost from the beginning though. I just never realized the chat boards were there until Britt pointed them out to me.

Well......I was innocently seduced onto this board....and the subsequent addition by none other than Shirley 38 herself! NOW .....she will tell you I was into Disney pins from my trip to WDW in February of 2000.....but it was HER that told my then hubby about the trading going on! SO then we had a mini meet after the return from my trip.....and .......as they say.....the rest is history!!!!!

Oh by the way..........THANK YOU SHIRLEY!!!!!!!! SMOOOOOOOOOOCH! I love it here!

I found the DIS because I was bored at work on day! I decided to do a search to visit some sites to plan a WDW vacation, and found the DIS. After a while I started checking on other boards besided the trip planning ones and found the Collectors Board. From the Collectors Board I found DizPins. And from that my pin collecting grew from just picking up ones that I really liked or that related to the parks and attractions to hundreds of pins that I still haven't taken the time to organize. One of these days I'm going to get them sorted and arranged in the binders I bought so I can enjoy them! Looking forward to our next trip in November so I can buy more, and maybe make a trade or two. I've never made a trade in person, only a couple through these boards.

I found you guys in the funniest way.
I was doing a research paper on Dyslexia. I typed in Dyslexia in the search. I swear I did.
I read a few things about the subject and then there is was. "Are you trying to find DISlexia" Now I know and you know that it is not spelled that way, but I'll bite. So I clicked on DISlexia, and I found Pete's Guide.
Sure glad I hat to do that paper. I only got a B- on it, but I think I am better off with the friends I have made than the grade I got. Peggie

I believe I found a link to (the predecessor of) the DIS from Deb Wills' site. By my best recollection, that was around 1995.

Over time, I have spent lots of time in many of the DIS boards.

I traded pins with Hopkins on another board and she pointed me here. Way...back in 1999.

We were led this way from Super Trader Mike (pinhook) just under a year ago. I still tell Mike it's all his fault! ;)
