Can I apply for DHs passport in Whitby without him being there?

I am planning on going to the passport office in Whitby in the next couple of weeks to apply for passports for DH and myself.

Can I apply for DHs passport with without him?

As long as he fills out all of the form before hand. He has to sign everything. You will need to have his passport pictures, his ID that he plans to use (i.e. birth certificate, sin card etc.). You should be okay. Just make sure you have everything with you including the kitchen sink!

I have applied for both my DH and DD's passports at the Whitby location with no problems at all! I do recall a very long line though so I suggest getting there as soon as they open!!

Make sure you have your id, as you will be the "applicant", I did Dh's and all the kids' over the summer in Whitby, Tuesdays in the late morning seems to be a good time for some reason...unless I just got lucky.

Are you applying for a passport for the first time or are you renewing your passport? If you are renewing your passport that has expired within the last 12 months you can fill out the Simplified Passport Renewal Process if you meet certain criteria.

I filled the form out online, printed them and took them to the passport office today here in Regina (along with the kids applications and all the stuff required). Since I was renewing DW's and my passport, I was sent to another office that handles renewals and there was no one else there. I was out of there in less than 30 minutes. It was painless except having to pay for them . I was told the passports would arrive in 2-3 weeks.
