Can I add placeholder to booking after making online DCL booking?

I plan on waking up early to make my online DCL booking on Thursday morning (West Coast, I have to leave early for work so can't book via phone).

Then in a couple days when the booking frenzy has died down a bit, can I call DCL and add my placeholder? Or placeholder can only be done by phone?

TIA! Can't wait!!! :jumping1:

You aren't able to "add" a placeholder to a reservation. The placeholder is its own reservation and has a reservation number tied to it.

If you booked something on thursday online and you wanted to use the placeholder in a couple of days it would be a cancellation of of the new booking and rebooking with your placeholder at the prevailing rate. (So if rates had gone up in those couple of days you would be paying the increased rate)

I would recommend trying to book over the phone (possibly during a work break?) if you want to be able to use your placeholder.

Thank you for the response. I was afraid that this would be the case. You're right....I will just have to try right at 8am EST and hope I get to work on time (I start my shift at 8:30 EST). I'm sure I'll have to wait until I get off work because I'm sure there will be long wait times. Wish me luck! :love:pixiedust:

I have found prices do not change much the first couple of days unless there is one "hot" cruise. I think you will be fine either way.

Thank you! I will still call at 0500 and hope for a short wait. If not, I'll call during my lunch break! I'll place a follow up post tomorrow to let you all know how things went! :chat:pixiedust:
