Can I add hopper option to an unused ticket?

I'm debating on whether to book my trip with hopper option or not.

In 2004 they didn't have MYW tickets. I bought my hopper tickets from AAA.

In 2005 we did have the hopper option, but only used the hopper option once.

This time I was told it's $7 per day to have the hopper option. For an 8 day ticket that's $56. For 4 people that's over $200 just for the hopper option.

We're planning to go in December. One of the days we'll be doing MVMCP.

Can I book a package without hopper option and then add hopping to unused tickets if we decide later to park hop before we go on the trip?

We bought MYW Base Tickets when we went in May but decided that on our last day we wanted to do MGM in the morning and afternoon and then do MK at night so that morning we stopped at the front desk and added the Park Hopper option for just that one day.
