Can I add a guest at check in?

Some friends of ours were in a position to lose some DVC points (missed banking deadlines and they're expiring), so they booked a short notice stay for us next week.

Since it's short notice, I don't expect to get documentation in the mail before our trip.

When I called to add Magical Express to the reservation, the reservation for OKW only showed my name and not my wife's on the reservation. Will it be a problem to add my wife's name to the room when we check in?

I was able to add Magical Express by calling them directly. I assume I can't call DVC member services to add my wife to the reservation, as the reservation was made on the friends DVC membership. If necessary I can contact the friends who made the reservation, but they're in the U.K. and I wasn't going to bother them with this detail unless necessary.

(forgot to mention, we're not using the dining plan)

Yes, you can add your wife at check-in. I'd ask the member to add her in advance as it will save a little time at check-in, but not a big deal if they don't. Each registered guest will have a personalized room key - thus the registration.

If your wife needs to have Magical Express, you may need to have her on the reservation or they won't transport her.

I've already called Magical Express directly and they added transportation for both of us with no problem... so as long as we can get her a room key when we check in we should be set.

Last month my step daughter joined us 2 days into our trip. We originally told her to take a cab to OKW but then remembered the "free" Magical Express. It was no problem for her to take advantage of this when she got to the airport, regardless of the fact that it was not pre-arranged.

Also, we were able to add her name to our reservation when we checked in and her key was waiting for her at the OKW front desk when she arrived!

The reservation hard copy we get usually shows just one name, although reservations has all the names. Have the member call and verify the names, but I bet they're all there.
