Can I add a day to a complimentary ticket?

I have a 1-day PH DD10 earned from her fundraising for last years CHOC walk. Does anyone know if I can pay to add a day to this ticket on our upcoming visit? In addition to the standard red terms and conditions on all ticket stock, the ticket just says:
1-Day Park Hopper Complimentary
Not valid December 25th-31st of any year
Not valid after 08/23/19
Donated by the Disneyland Resort

Anyone had success (or lack of success) adding days to this type of ticket?

I haven't asked about this recently, but the last time I checked, it wasn't possible to upgrade a comp ticket. CMs said that you had to buy another ticket because there wasn't a way to upgrade a ticket that had no monetary value. You might try calling Guest Services to see if there are any exceptions for the CHOC Walk tickets.

Yes, this makes sense and was what I vaguely recalled as well. I thought about calling but it seems like sometimes the info you get on the phone vs when you're there at the ticket booth can vary. I guess we'll just give it a try and if I can't then I'll just buy her a 1 day ticket for the extra day. If we do decide to add on it will only be a half day so I can probably just get her a 1 day 1 park.

To circle back- I did not even end up attempting this since it was clear it was a no since the ticket has no value as mentioned above.

I also discovered that you cannot add MaxPass to a donated/complimentary ticket. That was a real bummer. I actually ended up buying DD a whole other ticket as it wasn't really workable to have her be the only one in our group of 5 who didn't have MP. I have two more 1day/1park comp tickets from last years CHOC walk but am now unsure if I will use them at all. We LOVE MaxPass...

We love MP too but did not end up using it on our last trip (we splurged on hotel, so tried staying on more of a budget in other areas).......and got in 20 rides plus the fireworks in one day, and that included a 4 hour block of time at SWGE. We were NOT park hopping though. Jut food for thought. I thought there would be no way to get that much done, and was pleasantly surprised! =)

Yeah, I do think there are scenarios where MP isn't essential but in this case I had already purchased it for everyone else (and I already have it on my AP) for the day and part of our plan for the day was to stack up MPs for use around our two 4hr SWGE reservations. I was especially bummed because I had purchased her a 1-park ticket for the previous day when we arrived in the evening but were just going to DCA to do the WoC dessert party and a ride or two- no need for MP there. If I had known I couldn't add MP the next day I would have just burned the comp ticket Thursday evening instead.

Oh well- lesson learned and wanted to share here so it didn't surprise anyone else. I'll probably still figure out a way to use the 1park tickets we still have, though they have lots of blackout dates too (which is why I wasn't using them on our recent trip).

Oh totally get that! Major bummer!

Just to clarify, you can add max pass to a CM comp ticket. After you enter park, they give you a one day hopper paper ticket. You load that onto the app and buy one day MaxPass. I have had my guests do this many times. I am not sure about CHOC walk comps.

But with CM ones, you cannot do it until after you enter and get that paper park ticket.

Thanks for the clarification. I added "donated" to my earlier post so hopefully that will help. This was a paper ticket that had already been scanned into a park and the app would scan it but then throw an error. I went to a guest services kiosk and they told me it couldn't be added to a ticket with "no value".
