Can holding points ( a ressie cancelled within 30 days) be deposited to II. I was also told that within the last 60 days of my UY, I pay an extra fee but is there a point where they won't take my II deposit? Anyone ever have to forfeit there II deposit because they couldn't find a match? I did not find MS really helpful with these trades, anyone have experiences to share?

Sorry for all the questions, I never thought I would be in this position but because of a divorce the judge has frozen the DVC and the points are just going to expire if I don't do something!!

TIA

With II, anything less than 60 days is a late deposit. II is not very kind to late deposits and only give you late deposits in return. What you'd be depositing would be LESS than 2 months away and must be at least 14 days prior to the start of the week in question. That would put the value of 270 DVC points somewhere in the $199-599 range minus the exchange fee. I'd do this only if there were NO other options.

Suggestions:
  • If it's enough points, consider asking DVC if you can use your one time double secret exemption thus allowing you to bank the points AND take them out of the holding account.
  • Consider a Concierge Collection option.
  • Consider using them for for a DC or short notice DVC trip.
  • You could rent them at a reduced price. You might be best reserving something then renting it.
  • You could "trade" with another member who might use your points now and give you back some points later, likely far less than you gave them.
  • Look for a direct exchange with another timeshare owner (non DVC).
  • Ask DVC is there's anyway (don't even mention the exemption), that you could deposit without it being a late deposit.
Why don't you give us specifics like number of points, use year, your location (in this case PA) and any travel options you might have and we could narrow down some possibilities. You might also post on the rent/trade board, just don't sound too desperate when you post.
