can golf carts be rented from an off site agency?

There is no proof that the carts are going anywhere, if anything, they are expanding parking lots to make room for the private carts, wouldn't make sense to get rid of them now. Disney would be shooting themselves in the foot, lots of people would choose not to return, why would Disney want to do that?

But hey, that's your opinion, and this is mine, I think everyone on this forum knows it by now....lol

I hope they don't ban personal carts! We just bought ours and haven't been able to bring it to FW yet!

I guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens! popcorn::

Outside cart rentals are not allowed to be delivered to Disney property. Yes it has been happening a lot since the security gate has been removed from the front of Fort wilderness. The unfortunate part of this whole thing is that the outside companies are not adhereing to "the rules". This will probably end up causing a harder stand on non-disney carts. With so many outside carts entering proprty, there will be liability problems if any accident ever occured. if that ever happens, watch out.....all outside carts migh go away.

Not proof........but a very good opinion none the less :moped:

They haven't allowed outside golf carts to be delivered officially for years. The only difference now is the security gate was removed, so people found a loophole. If anything, they'll close the loophole.

And there have been accidents with golf carts, they are not rare. In fact, an ex girlfriend of mine once went flying off the end of a cart when the turn was made too fast, and busted her head open on the street. Had to go to the hospital for stitches, x-rays, what have you. Since we've been going to the Fort we've had at least 3 accidents with the carts, and I've seen countless others, but that's bound to happen.

It's not like accidents never happen with the carts. So what about all the people that have accidents while riding bikes? Or have accidents driving their cars and backing into things? Or have accidents while playing frisbee in the fields? Disney could be held liable for all of this, so should Disney take away all bikes, cars, not allow anything to go on at the Fort at all, since of course, anything might turn into an accident?

Seeing they are motorized vehicles they are subject to the law......

Don't believe me ask your insurance agent......;)

Ok, we're not making sense and going off topic again, so back to the original topic! :)

I just wanted to tell everyone that it is indeed okay to rent from offsite and our experience was wonderful. The cart was waiting for us as we were checking in. We told the CM that we needed to pull off out of the way to get the delivery and said it was no problem to just pull up and off to the side.

Kajun, may I ask you who you rented from and how much it cost?

the question posed by the original poster has been answered and unfortunately the thread has drifted of topic:confused:
