Can Get Gov't Rate at Dolphin during March?

I got the gov't rate at the Dolphin for June 2003 - I'm going to cancel and go March 2004 instead - do you think I can still get the gov't rate at that time??

You will probably be able to get the rate (if available), but you'll have to wait to book it.
I don't believe that they book this far in advance.

March is a very big month in the meeting and convention industry! Any property that markets itself as a convention hotel won't have very many discounted rates available in their busy months, no matter if it's March of 2003 or March of 2013, particularly a government rate that's often quite low compared to the convention rate the hotel can get. The Swan & Dolphin are one of, if not the largest, convention hotels in WDW.

Package and discounted rates (AAA, gvt, teacher & nurse rates, etc) fill room nights when there are high need dates and if the hotel's sales dept does its job and the hotel is filled with convention business then there will be very few high need dates.

Here in Las Vegas, February, March & anything in April before Easter is busy with convention business, and also September and October. Hope this helps!

I couldn't get one for March 2003. The room rate wasn't available at the Dolphin (cheapest room came to $399)and the website said there was no availability at the Swan at all! Probably a really huge convention.

DU was able to get me the teacher discount in March this year. The hotel said non were available but DU found one, so it is possible. We really enjoyed our stay at the Swan!
