Can DVC points be used at Coronado Springs

You might want to ask this question on the DVC boards section you will probably get an answer faster. good luck and hope someone answers.

Points can be used for non-dvc Disney resorts. However, they are much more expensive point-wise than the dvc resorts.

Are you asking this because you're thinking about renting a reservation from a DVC member, or because you're considering becoming a DVC member?

As a renter, it'll cost you far more to get a reservation using DVC points at a non-DVC resorts than it would to pay cash. At current point rental rates, you'd be paying around $175-200 a night for CSR, as opposed to around $100-125 a night for a studio at OKW, depending on the season.

That's because DVC points are 'meant' to be used at the DVC resorts. That's where the value is. DVC owners can use their points to stay at non-DVC resorts, but the vast majority of owners see this as a perk, only to be used in special situations.

Yes they can.......maybe not a good use of the points, but I like the fact we have that option........ The wife and I first stayed at WDW was at Caribbean Beach and we loved it........We plan from time to time to use some of our points to stay at Caribbean for old time sake..........

Thank you all for your answers. I am not a current DVC member but am considering doing so. I was really impressed with Coronado Springs last year with it only being a moderate resort. I thought it'd be less expensive to rent points from DVC and stay there. Thanks for your help!!:thumbsup2

DVC points can be used at basically all the WDW resorts, EXCEPT as follows:

1. Value Resorts
2. WDW hotel resorts that also have a DVC resort component suc as BWI (DVC=BWV), WL (DVC=VWL), BC (DVC=BCV), and eventually AKL when the AKV's open

Most do not consider using points outside of DVC units a good useage. For example a regular hotel room at Coronado will cost about as many points as a one or even two bedroom unit at one of the DVC resorts.

CSR was our first on-site trip. If you liked CSR, you may want to give SSR a try - they were designed by the same architect. Similar layout, walking paths and landscape architecture - but much, much nicer rooms and ameneties.

I am wondering if DVC points can only be used at specific resorts?
