I know that people have had different experiences with servers not allowing older kid's to order kid's meals. We will have to pay for one of the above locations OOP, and whether or not he gets a kid's meal will make a difference.

Most places (and I do mean most places) will allow anyone to order a kids meal when paying OOP.

I wouldn't worry, if you run upon a server that won't allow it, ask to speak to the manager. But these servers are very rare.

I have ordered several kids meals OOP with no problem in the past. Just inform the server as soon as you are seated so that if there are any problems, they can be ironed out before your DS decides what to order from the menu.
