We are going January 6th. We are staying at Royal Pacific so will be using the 1 hour we get in early to do Harry Potter. I am about to order our tickets and was wondering if we would have anytime left to go to Universal Studios to see Transformers? Maybe Despicable me and MIB. Is there enough time? i think I rembember last time we were there we ere finished with riding everything once at IOA by 3 or 4. But cant be for sure I am remembering correctly.

if you do not do everything in both parks in one day, you can upgrade and add a second day to your ticket while you are in the park on the 6th.

No we only have one day. 1/2 our group wants to go to universal the other 1/2 will stay at disney. I am considering rather I should get a 1 day 1 park tickets or the 1 day 2 park ticket. Is there a good chance we can make it to both parks?

Not sure how busy it's going to be that week, but I think it's doable with some strategizing.

You could do rope drop at Harry Potter, then head over to the Studios for Transformers, Despicable, etc. That way you at least get those two headliner attractions in early. Don't know what the typical wait times are in January, but on our trip in October Despicable, for example, got busy pretty early and stayed busy. After that you could head back over to Islands and have till 7 to ride the other rides. The parks being so close together, the walk won't wear you out. Plus Hogwarts after dark is quite magical imho. :)

Then again it all depends on what you want out of each park. Can you do everything in both parks in a day? I don't see it even on slow days.

Have fun whatever you do! :)

Suggestion for Harry Potter...just in case there's a crowd...if they let you...turn right towards Seuss Landing, then hang a left before the Carousel...there's a path that goes by the old Green Eggs and Ham concession...this will shave some time off your walk through Seuss.

since you had posted you were staying on site at rph, figured you would do the early entry on your check out day.
doing early entry and using the express lines would make it easier in getting more done.

i have no idea of what type of crowds you will face in early january.
i'm interested as that is the time period i will be there also.

Just remember to get the special Express Pass card at the RPH before going to the parks. This separate card will have your photo on it for your sole personal use. The EP card will be good for the day you check in through the day you check out. This is not like Disney which uses the KTTW/magicband for EMH you get at check-in.

With the express pass my husband and I easily hit all the main attractions in one day. I don't think you will have a problem.

My fiance and I stayed at RPR for one night in May, on arrival day we got to US at about 3:00 and we were done by 7:00. We did Dispicable Me, Disaster, Shrek, Rip Ride Rocket twice, the Mummy twice, MIB, and the Simpsons.

The next day we did early entry for IOA to see HP..we did FJ once and Dueling Dragons three times, looked around WWOHP and were done by 9 am. Then did the Hulk, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, Popeye twice and Dudley Do Right twice. We were done at the park by noon.

We spent a total of 8 hours in both parks combined, so I think its very possible to do two parks in one day with the express pass.

I will add that we both smoke, so those 4 hour parks days probably included an hour of smoke breaks.
