Can DH Pick Up QS Breakfast for My Parents?

We're staying at AKV Kidani. The walk from Kidani to Mara (QS) will be long. DH will likely be the one going to Mara to pick up QS breakfast for everyone.

My parents are staying a separate studio at AKV. If DH presents their KTTW card to bring back breakfast for them, will he be stopped? Will they check his name against the name on their room ressie?

Thanks! :goodvibes

They won't check his name with the reservation but they might stop him from getting more meals than what is listed on your KTTW card. I have never had a problem getting more meals than what was listed on our card but I have read where some have had problems at CS locations. On our last day we are usually trying to use up credits and will get pizza meals to go. Have always done this without a problem. But if he is using two different KTTW cards they are going to be flagged and will possibly stop him. Perhaps with explaining the situation it will not be a problem though. But than again I am sure they will want to be cautious that someone did not steal your parent's card somehow.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying he might get stopped if he tries to pay for 2 breakfasts w/the KTTW but there is only 1 QS left on the card? If they stop him for that, I can understand. I just hope that my parents (who are now grandparents) won't be forced to walk back and forth just to get breakfast...I'm sure they'd prefer to eat on the balcony to watch animals. DH doesn't mind the walk (says me ;))

No what I am saying is if your room card says two adults and he tries to buy 4 adult meals they may not let him buy them at the same time even if he were to put them all on the same card. And if he tries to put two on each card they will be flagged by the fact that he has two different KTTW cards in different names. For example: He buys two meals on your card and than has them ring up two meals on your parents card. They are going to be flagged by the fact that he had them rung up seperate and used two different room cards.

He is more likely to get by ok if he uses only one KTTW card to buy all 4 meals esp. as they do not always look at the number of people listed on that card. But do be aware that others have been stopped from doing this at CS locations because they did not have 4 adults on their card. In others words they were told you can only buy the number of meals that are equal to the number of people listed on the card at any one time. Example: 2 adults one child listed on the card means you can only buy 2 adults CS meals and one child meal at that time. You can not get 4 adult meals. I guess this is how they are making sure that you are not buying meals for those not on the dining plan with your credits.

As I said I have never had a problem buying 4 meals when only 2 adults were listed but others have reported this as a problem and I have only done this at the Pop food court on our last day. Usually they do ask if it is our last day though. It all depends on the location and or CM. I have never had to use two KTTW cards to get meals but I would think they would not allow this because they do not know if the card is stolen or not. As I said if they ask he can explain the situation and they will probably work with him but they might want to check with your parents to be sure they know he has their card. You might want to talk to someone when you check in and see what they can do to help so that he has no problems.

If you were all staying in the same room it would not be an issue because he would only need one room card to buy all 4 meals and 4 adults would be listed on that card for that room.

Hope this clarified things a bit better.

Thanks for the clarification...I really hope they let us buy stuff all one card then and maybe we'll rotate cards?

(For example, if Cosmic Rays is super hectic, it would be easier if DH ordered all the food and we (along w/baby) wait for and try to get a table.)

I guess we'll see what happens, thanks again! :goodvibes

Good luck. I hope it all works out for you.

I do not know if they are still doing this or not but awhile back it was posted on the boards that you can not sit down until after you have your food at some CS locations. Cosmic Rays was one of them. They have CMs standing around to guide you to a table once you have your food to avoid people saving tables. I do not know if this is only during busy times or if they have stopped it because on our last trip they were not doing this any longer. It was supposed to be a trial run so maybe they are done and have decided not to do it any more. I have not seen anything on the boards about this in months so I do not know the final results. Just wanted to let you know if you didn't already. I was never fond of this idea myself esp. for those with little kids. It is so much easier to get a table to get out of everyones way. Esp. when it is very busy.

If you're paying with the dining plan, he should take their key card. It's one thing for people to say they don't enforce the rule that you can pay with dining credits for only the number of meals that you have persons on your key card, but I've personally seen it enforced (and just recently too) and it's best not to take a chance where there is a trip involved to get the food. You should not expect to be able to buy everything on one card.

This is said to occur only at Magic Kingdom's large CS restaurants and only on a needed basis on crowded days.

My response is in red:

As I said you are taking a chance. I have been able to buy more meals than people listed on my card but I have also read about people that were not able to. Personally I have a problem with this and if I was turned away I would just pay for the number of meals on my card and than go back through the line to a different cashier to pay for the rest. The Disney Rep. that came to our AAA said that you could use your credits any way that you choose. Example: you are not limited to 1 CS credit a day or 1 snack credit a day per person and if you wanted to use them all at once you could. I never heard of this so called rule until I came across it on the DIS. And I have read the dining plan rules before every trip to be sure I was aware of any changes. That being said if it came right down to it I would not argue with them on policy I would just pay seperate.

Thanks for the update. As I said I was not sure if this was still going on at CS locations or not. Haven't seen any posts about it in awhile.
