Can birth control pill cause rash?

My doctor switched my birth control pill with my last cycle. Since about two days after starting the new pills, I've broken out in a full body rash. It gets worse every day. Last night I couldn't even sleep. I tried to call my PCP today, but she wasn't in. About an hour ago, I finally thought that maybe it was related to the change in birth control. I'm just wondering if I should stop taking it, until I know for sure. I'm only using it for regulation and to minimize my PMS symptoms, and I'm so darn itchy!

Don't know about the cause, but I'd take a Benadryl if I were you. Good luck! I can only imagine how uncomfortable you are!

It's a generic - Zovia? One of the side effect is a rash, but I've never had this type of problem before.

That is one I'm not familiar with. It is listed as a side effect? I just checked mine and it doesn't list that as a side effect. Sorry! A cold washcloth helps with some immediate relief while you are waiting for Benadryl to take effect.

Hope you get to talk to them tomorrow.
