I am trying to crunch the numbers for when the deal is released to the GP.... I have the discounts for the room only but an having trouble finding and understanding what the discount is for SPD....
It is room/dining plan/tickets but what is the overall discount?

A safe estimate that will get you close (but not exactly) to the SPD discount is to assume rack rate for the room, child price for tickets, and child price for dining. This will be just for the two adults as there is no charge/pricing for children under 3 for tickets, and the infant won't get its own dining plan.

The child price for dining applies if you take the plan offered with your resort -- quick service plan for values and regular plan for moderates and above.

I booked room/ticket package using my Disney Visa discount. They couldn't really answer the question of an exact percent on the entire s/p/d. they simply add it and then punch in their code and tell you the pricing. The room part of the discount is based on level. Up to 30% I believe for deluxe.
I can tell you how mine ended up working out.
I booked POR for 7 nights in March, for two adults/2kids. But one child is 11, so adult pricing on ticket/dining.
I booked only room and tickets which saved me a total of $500 (within a few dollars of that). I'm basing my savings off of what the total comes to when I priced it myself online.
I did ask them to price with dining as well. If I added on the regular dining plan, the total savings would have been approx $700. (So it looks like adding on the dining would have saved $200 over standard dining plan pricing, as the room discount wouldn't have changed).

As a side note, the Disney Visa website says on a mod resort the savings is calculated as 25% off weekday rates/20% off weekend rates.

Hope that makes sense and I haven't just made it more confusing!:)

I booked 3 nights/5 days at POP for 4 adults with SPD for a savings of $283. That's a long way from free dining, which would have saved another $440. The savings averaged out to just under $24 per person/per day. Our nights include one weekday and two weekend, which probably plays into the amount of the discount.

I can tell you that for 5 nights (Sun-Thurs) at POR preferred room, with 5 day standard tickets and standard dining, it was a difference of nearly $650 or 18.5% of rack rate. ($2830 for the package).

If I figure rack rate for the same room with kids prices for tickets and dining, it would have been around $2640. So I have no idea how they come up with the actual discount.

Hope that helps.

So I hope I can make it easier-
2 adults staying at the POP. If I took room only discount ( with room upgrade to pref. I would have gotten back $70) I already paid in full.
Took the quick service dining and paid an extra $16 per person per day for the plan.
In my book $16 for 2 meals is a bargin- so I took that option.
