We have one opening soon (maybe this week?) and I was wondering about any opinions. Thanks!

It's very similar to Big Lots except I don't recall them having any food items.

You can find some really good buys sometimes but it seems the stuff is usually home decor items and unusual kitchen items.Ours stays junky though.

Tuesday Morning does not even compare to Big Lots. Big Lots is a junk store. Tuesday Morning consists mostly of name brand (usually higher end) items that have been discontinued and are discounted. They have good quality toys, housewares, decorative items. Very reasonably priced. I have yet to see Limoge boxes or Cuisinart cookware at Big Lots. TM is a lot of fun just to browse and find things you didn't know you couldn't live without. they have a small food section with gourmet cookies, olive oils, teas, jams...

By the way, I am not a Big Lots snob, I go in there all the time. I just don't expect much in the way of quality. (once I actually saw....bottled water...from....MEXICO!!! hmmmmm..)

Around here...TM is MUCH better than Big Lots.

It is just a clearinghouse for leftover stuff that stores can't sell. Lots of different things that (for our locale) are of a much much much better quality than Big Lots.

Worth checking out! :thumbsup2

As far as food--they do carry some closeout things--like those decorative vingar jars (with the peppers) and various stuff.

Come to think of it--they are more like a Marshalls or a TJ Max without the clothing dept (Though they get a couple of things in--but not enough for destination clothing shopping).

Around here, there are a couple. One of them has a lot of crap, the other has some pretty good stuff.

:rotfl: Mexico?!?! Aren't you told "not to drink the water" there??? :rotfl:

I've found some great stuff at TM. I totally agree with hrh
I just got Ralph Lauren Luggage for less than 1/2 of what it retails.

Holycow

High end clearance merchandise, Including Mme Alexander dolls, Nice Bosch Telescopes, Fancy Linnens (Lilly Pulitzer is a name I seem to remember recently, along with Tommy Hilfiger and others) They carry Crystal, china, lots of cuisianart(sp), I've seen la cruset (sp) cookware, speciality items and even scrapbooking supplies. I LOVE my Tuesday Morning Store.

I love me some Big Lots too.. They're one of my favorite retailers, but the two stores don't compare in my book.

Not at all like Big Lots.

It's a high end discount store. I find FABULOUS deals there, like Madame Alexander dolls, name brand baby clothes, designer purses and luggage, Calphalon cookware, and china carried at Macys. We actually found some of our crystal there, from Dillards, and I loaded up!

They get new shipments every Tuesday (thus the name) and usually aren't open past 6pm. They are also harder to find but usually worth the trip =) I often walk out with nothing but sometimes hit the motherload. Never know! Some stores are very cluttered while others are nice and clean. I hit a Tuesday Morning anytime I spot one =)

I find it to be a great place to buy seasonal items and gifts. Also home decor. But it's not cheapo stuff like Big Lots (which is probably why I don't buy stuff there every trip!)

Our Tuesday morning is just junk... even junkier than Big Lots.

I found broken things, mismatched things and items that were not matched together... things like only one curtain in a set of two, etc.

I went once to a Tuesday Morning, got disgusted by the junk and left.

I have never been to one but it sounds fairly similar to Home Goods?

Same here. I only went once and wasn't impressed at all. Our store was just a mess. Now that everyone is saying how nice theirs is I may give it another try.

The only one that I went to closed down. It was a dis-array of collectibles and plush pillows. It had some nice stuff but they had crazy hours, so it went away.

After searching high and low for a Waring bar blender, I walked into our TM store and they had 10 of them on the shelf. I could have kicked myself. I've only been in the store once (even though I drive past it every day on the way to/from work). The thing that I noticed was that they put out new merchandise prior to Tuesday, but then put big sheets of plastic over the new stuff with signs that say you can't purchase those items until "Tuesday Morning".

Could be just like any retail establishment..an issue with management.

Ours for the most part is nicely set up. Very much close out set up--but there is arrangement involved. Sometimes the back section with the furniture and rugs gets clogged in the aisles with baskets of stock they haven't set out yet. But all in all--not to bad as long as you don't expect it too look like Saks.

You never know what you're going to find at TM. Sometimes great toys, sometimes good linens, they have nice picture frames and kitchen wear. Often something you had no idea you wanted or needed. I've lived in two places with them, and always enjoy seeing what they have (unfortunately I rarely walk out empty-handed) -- picked up a new gold bag for me and a telescope for DGS on last trip. I don't go very often -- too hazardous to my budget!

The one near me just moved even closer to me, very dangerous to my wallet!
I signed up on their website for their email sale news so I can see what's new before heading up there.

You never know what you will find there. I got my FoodSaver from there. I also found some sets of QVC Cooks Essentials bakeware here for a great price. It was for sets QVC still sells, so I also saved thier crazy shipping prices!

Not sure what Tuesday Morning has to do with Disney, but just ran across this thread.

I shopped at my local Tuesday Morning just yesterday. Bought a fabric shower curtain, a polish Pitcher and mini bowl and some tea.

That sort of sums up some of what you’ll find there.

I was actually shopping for bed sheets, but was excited to find the polish dishes! I love them and lately they do not have them at TJ Maxx or Marshalls.

So, yes it is a great store to rummage around in.

I’ve signed up for their rewards program and emails.

The had beautiful Peacock Alley sheets, BTW. Still pricey though.
