Can anyone tell me about the week of Dec 5th thru the 12th?

We are planning a trip and our tentative dates are Dec 5th thru the 12th. We are using our air miles so our dates are limited. I was wondering typically what the crowds are like? How is the weather? We went the Sunday after t-givng last year and weather and crowds were great!!! And the most important question. When is the pop warner event for 2006? Will this effect the crowds?

POP should be there for part of your trip. They traditionally come first weekend in Dec. For the most part you don't see a lot of them in the parks, but you will see them at the value resorts. Other than the POP people, the crowds are not very big that time of year. Weather is similar to what you had right after T-day. But as you know, the weather can change from one day to the next drastically! Hot one day, need coats the next, raining the third.

When we go I bring clothes for all weather conditions.

We went this past Dec. 8-12 and we didn't run into any crowds. If you have ever been in the summer, you will be shocked by how few people are there! Now my Dh only wants to travel to WDW during Dec. We arrived during the end of POP warner and we didn't see any kids. In fact, there were a lot of adults at the parks. We also stayed Deluxe s so this could have been part of the reason for not seeing them around. The only bad part about this time of year was that we only wore shorts once during our trip because it was just too cold the rest of the days.

Crowds are low, weather is changeable. The value resorts are crowded from the Pop Warner folks for part of that time, and the DVC resorts are pretty full because it's low point season for us DVC'ers so we like to go then. We are going to be there December 5-11, celebrating my 55th birthday on the 8th. Planning on going to MVMCP on the 7th or 8th; may see you there!!

I posted this and got a lot of good reviews for these dates. I was told don't stay at any Value Resorts d/t Pop Warner (we'll be at VWL) but the kids do not go to the parks b/c they are busy with their own things. We'll be there Dec 3rd-7th.

Hi! You will love it at that time of year! My Hubby wasn't at all excited about going to WDW at all (can you believe it?), but was completely won over by our trip (Dec.9-17, 2003). We rode Pooh 6 times in a row with NO line!!! The weather wasn't excellent (cold-ish and rainy, mostly), but two days were warm enough for swims (at POFQ), which thrilled DS! The low crowd level makes everything good, and all of the Holiday decorations are up-- so, so magical! Anyway, enjoy! We'd go again at that time if we could... as it is, we're going in May this year.

We've gone the last 3 years during that week and have had a great time. The only time we've seen a crowd issue was the year the first weekend in Dec was the weekend right after Thanksgiving.

I don't notice the POP kids but we don't have children that age and don't stay at values. I'm sure they aren't hanging around Fantasyland.

I agree -the crowds are out of control-waits for rides are 3-5 hours at least-it often snows that time of year-resorts are notoriously overbooked and they might put you up in a tent in the parking lot!!

Shhhhhh...I'm only kiddin', but we don't want others to catch on...

Been that week for the last couple of years (well not this year ) and it's traditionally been a great time to go.

The rides are generally walk on and wait times for other things is minimal.

BUT don't let this get out. We don't want the crowds to spoil a great week!

We are planning for December 7 - 16. DS will be celebrating his 5th birthday on December 8th. So if you spot a cute little boy with a beautiful woman and a guy who kinda (okay, overwhelmingly) resembles Pooh, stop us and we can get a pic of both of you with your birthday pins on!
