I am a single parent attemptiong to do WDW is 2005 with my DD and a younger cousin. I am looking for ways to stretch our budget and thought 'free breakfast' would be a great way to start.

My DD and I stayed at Marriott's Springhill Suites in 2003 and the breakfast was free, filling and a great way to start our day. I would like to try another resort and was wondering what else is out there.

Thanks so much!!!!:earsgirl:

Check into Comfort Syites Maingate EAST. Great location, mini suites with 2 queen size beds and a separate television area.
Great free continental breakfast. Nice pool.

Rooms can be reserved for $55 to $60 per night using Choice Hotels rate guarantee. Do a search on this board for further info and rates about Comfort Suites Maingate East.

We have stayed there twice, you will not be disappointed.

Post you need additional info. Have a great trip

Country Inn in LBV is nice. Good breakfast, coffee/tea and cookies all day, clean, spacious room. Good value.

Be careful of the places that are under $50 /night (Knights Inn for example). The "free breakfast" may be instant coffee and stale donuts.

Thanks for the warning. I will keep that in mind. Thanks everyone for the advice. I continue my quest to find the perfect location. And if all else fails, I can always go back to Springhill Suites.

Hello! i wanted the same things u did - breakfast so we can chat in the am about the day ahead and clean room -

first found hampton inn 100% satis. guar.
then went w/ hawthorn suites in lbv - free breakfast - DELUXE breakfast w/ hot eggs, sausage, etc... :drinking1: yum!

check them out: www.hawthornsuiteslbv.com :voila:

they are close to disney too and have interior corridors.
I heard NOTHING negativ eabout this place.

I also like how their breakfast area is bright w/ windows and private tables, not like a prison w/ cafeteria tables.... ::laughing:

go to expedia.com for virtual tours of hotels and tripadvisor.com for reviews
and epinions.com for other reviews

Last October I stayed at the Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista. It is on Marbella Palms. Very convenient to DTD. Free hot breakfast buffett with lots to choose from. Very satisified overall. The Holiday Inn Family Suites also has a free hot breakfast buffett. That was a nice place to stay as well.

1) The HIFS is switching over to a Nick theme in 2005 and will not offer free breakfast anymore, I read the other day. However, they are supposed to be offering free lunch and dinner for kids, BUT the room rate is around $200/night.

2) Compare the room rates on other places against the Comfort Suites Maingate East. CSME doesn't have the eggs and such (they do have the make your own waffles), but I wouldn't pay $20 or more a night just to get some eggs. CSME is a nice hotel; it was voted the #1 Comfort Suites in the US and is only 3 years or so old. It's right at Old Town and several eating places.

You guys are great. I have lots of places that I believe will serve our needs. If anyone else has ideas I am more that happy to listen.

Thanks for the help!

Do you happen to know the cancellation policy when you book through Choice Hotels? I saw on hotelmartusa.com the cancellation was 24 hours notice. I'm thinking of booking for August, 2005 and you never know what might come up between now and then but I want to make sure I get a good rate.
TIA

Check www.choicehotels.com for the exact cancellation policy. If I remember correctly it is 24 hours.

Remember that when making a ressie through this website, you do not have any pre-payment as you do with hotelmart.

Have a great trip.

Does any know if the rates change a lot? I just checked the site and they are quoting 98 - 119 per night for August 2005. Just wanted to know should I continue to check from time-to- time or just try somewhere else.

I would like a week off-site and finish up our trip with a couple of nights on-site (if I am privileged enough to receive a Disney code).

Hi MsMulan!

I assume that rate was through www.choicehotels.com and not through www.hotelmartusa.com. As per the suggestion of winterman, you first go to HotelmartUSA's site, to find the rate per night for your dates and the particular room you are looking for, then you proceed to the Choice Hotels site and make your reservation. Then you send through the Choice Hotels internet rate guarantee form. They will respond within 24 hours, and provided they can find your rate on Hotelmart, they will match the rate and give you 10% off. It really does work. THANKS AGAIN winterman!

The Embassy Suites in LBV had a great breakfast. It includes made to order eggs and pancakes, plus snack food that they encouraged us to take with us. I think it runs about $100 a night.

THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU! Everyone on these boards are lifesavers.

The Sleep Inn is farther down 192, but we were there last week and the breakfast was very good. They had make-your-own waffles that were a hit.

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites in LBV. Nice suite with large continental breakfast buffet. Things like bagels, cereal, biscuits & gravy, muffins, etc.

This time we are staying at Residence Inn closer to Universal since I couldn't get a room and the LBV location with my Marriott Rewards Points.

I second this choice! It was excellent! I've also stayed at Homewood Suites in Kissimmee. Decent breakfast buffet. Not as upscale at Embassy Suites, but less expensive also.

Since there's just the three of you, have you considered staying at one of the WDW value resorts, and having breakfast in the room? Most kids are more than happy with cereal and fruit. You could go ahead and book, then wait for the codes to come out. If you're going the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th week in Aug., you could get a great rate. Lower than most I read quoted on here. Even the first week, with codes, could be cheaper. Just a thought. :)
