can anyone recommend a nice beach for the day?

We want to spend a day at the beach with the kids. I would love one that had like a boardwalk and plenty of seashells. Nice area, accomodations on beach... either coast.

Seashells = Sanibel & Captiva Islands
Boardwalk = None that I know
Closest = Melbourne Beach or Cocoa Beach
Nicest (IMO) East Coast = Crescent Beach (between Palm Coast & St. Augustine)
Nicest Gulf Coast = Many to choose from: "maybe" Siesta Key
Least Favorite = Daytona & New Smyrna Beaches

I prefer Clearwater , the beach front has undergone a renovation programme.
