Hi everyone and happy Christmas!

My daughter is 9 and is saving for a laptop of her own. I hope it will do her for a good few years. She likes playing games like club penguin etc online and would use it for school projects etc.

Any advice / tips? I am not so great at the specifications, really up to £1000 but pref more like £550ish? PC World probs :)

Thanks

If you're looking for one to last a few years, I recommend getting one with a Core i3/5 processor in it. There's plenty with Core 2 Duos in, but they're getting a bit outdated.

What kind of screen size are you looking for? I had a 17inch one, but found it far to big to move around with. Then I moved to a 10inch but found that too small. 13/15 inch seem to have a good balance of size/portability.

Something like this seems decent. Would definitely do everything she wants, and should last a good few years.

Again this would also do the job. This has a bit more RAM so is probably the better choice.
But both laptops would definitely do what's required of them (:
