Can anyone recommend a decent pottery wheel for a child?

My son wants one for Christmas, but we certainly aren't going to get him a professional one that costs $500+! Does anyone have a child's version (the ones I am finding online cost around $50) that actually works? I don't want to get him a piece of junk that won't work, but I don't want to spend much more than $50, either. Anyone have any recommendations (including where to purchase)? Thanks for your help!!

I've been wondering the same thing. My DD would like one. I saw those at DiscoveryStore.com but I don't know if they are good or not.

I got a child's version of a pottery wheel as a child, and it never worked :( I remember being SO disappointed! I wonder if you could find him a used version of a real one for cheap :confused3 Maybe they sell them on Ebay or something.

Sorry but those toys just don't work.
