We will be coming to DW in June 2012. Our group will be arriving at different times so we will be staying on and off property. The first 3 days of our stay will just be 3 adults so staying on property without a doubt. After the other 2 adults and 1 child arrive (the next 5 days of our trip) we will be moving out and going to a 2 or 3 bedroom suite so cooking options are available. They really want to stay somewhere on I-drive and have suggested Floridays. I have read both types of reviews from this hotel. What do you think or is there somewhere else on I drive you would suggest?? We only need room for 5 nights and then the 3 adults will be booked back on property for an additional 3 nights. All help would be greatly appreciated. Planning an 11 day DW trip for 6 in two segments in just a bit over 30 days is tough. I have never stayed off property but having a washer, dryer, and being able to cook is important for that many people.

Also try WBC or one of the Sheraton Vistana's they would be great for a group of your size and you can find great prices on ebay.

I have never stayed off site and totally new to the idea. Not sure about how condos or homes for rent work. This is a spur of the moment trip so being able to keep cost down would be nice as well. We have alot of things planned on I Drive. We will not be in the room much at all mostly just to sleep since this is my daugher and her family's first trip. We want to pack 5 days worth of fun in for them so a fancy place is not needed. I am open to all suggestions!! PM me with info if you have tips on houses or condos that may in the long run be cheaper for the week. Thanks.

Why don't you book a home and stay off-site for the entire trip? Then you would not have to keep moving around. Plus you would get discounts for the longer stay in the home. Try VRBO to find a home off-site.

There are several similar timeshare type resorts in the area that Floridays is located. On the same side of International Drive but a little bit further down (maybe a half mile away) is the Hilton Grand Vacation Club International Drive resort, across the street from Floridays is the Sheraton Vistana Villages resort and right next door to Floridays is The Fountains. Further up I-Drive from Floridays is the Marriott Grande Vista resort (a couple of miles away) and on Westwood Boulevard (also about two miles from Floridays) are the Marriott Harbour Lake and Marriott Cypress Harbour resorts - they're across the street from one another. And next to Cypress Harbour is the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at SeaWorld resort. All of these resorts are within a few miles of SeaWorld - some of them are very close - and they're all within a few miles (south) of the convention center. All of these resorts have two bedroom villas, but the two Hiltons, the Sheraton, Floridays and the Marriott Grande Vista resorts also have three bedroom villas.

Of those eight resorts, I think that the two Hiltons, the Sheraton and two of the Marriotts (Cypress Harbour and Grande Vista) are the nicest.

Dick I agree.:thumbsup2

I would also suggest looking on VRBO for what it would cost to rent a vacation home. You might be able to rent a home for less then the condos.

Good Luck!

Thank you all so much for your help. I think my group has decided on a Sheraton. Which one of these is the place to stay? I have read the thread on the Vista resort and it sounds huge. My family would like all the options they have to offer. With so many buildings how do you know which one to request on a diamond form? This is starting to be so confusing. (I will need a full bar and don’t even drink ha-ha) I have also read up on the villages. Which one of these is the best one to stay at and have any of you booked directly from Dreams unlimited to get their great pricing? if so do you still get a quality room with them and still be able to get the free shuttle? We have decided on a 2 bedroom with a king and two double beds in which ever place we decide on. We decided against renting a house due to the fact we will not have a car.
