Can anyone offer advice?

Hi everyone, I just found this board and I am super excited. My son and I are taking a trip to the World on Sept 30 - Oct 7. This is a mommy/son trip as my husband is deployed. I looked through some of the idea galleries but I didn't find anything for a "support the troops", etc type design. I am really at a loss. Is there software to create these designs? Anything that is free on the internet even? Any assistance would be great.

EDITED to add: I can give specific unit info etc if anyone can help. I just wasn't sure how much stuff was needed.

Hi I'd love to see the design you come up with. We're going in October and I'd like to make a shirt also showing our support for our troops.
