Can anyone here adopt a dog?

Not Monty dog...but Poppy, the poodle on this page...

I am sitting here reading his story, bawling my eyes out at work.
I can't have him because he does not get along with small dogs or I would.

He's 10 yrs old and I fear he won't be adopted and he will likely be killed at the pound where he is.

Someone tell me to stop crying...

My Adoption Story: My name is Poppy. I am hoping that there is someone out there with a heart of gold that will want to take me. I am a Poodle X and I am over the age of 10 years and weigh 9 lbs. Your kind soul with have the satisfaction of knowing that you gave a dog a second chance at life. I may be old but I am not feeble. I am very active for my age and yes, I still love to play. I seem to be fairly housebroken but I may need more training on a new schedule. I am quite silly at times and enjoy belly rubs. I am also a great lap warmer and will cuddle up on your lap until you make me get off. I can get quite demanding and will nudge your hand if you stop petting me. I get along great with other small dogs (hasn`t been tested with bigger dogs yet). I am sad that my family never came to get me but I am hopeful and very excited about my new life to come. They love me here and I know you will too. Please look past my age. We can enjoy the rest of my life together.

He could be yours!! I had a poodle that lived to be 17 so 10 isn't that old. Just keep in mind that poodles don't shed but must be groomed.

No degree in English for me either, but isn't Monty a large dog, making it inconsequential if Poppy doesn't get along with small dogs?

Or is this some sort of insider thing that I somehow missed out on? I don't miss much, but ocassionally I'll go have a life and it happens.

Were you reading the pit bull thread?

I read it to mean that Monty doesn't get along with small dogs. My friend's Jack Russell doesn't either.

Poor Poppy. My cats would eat him alive.
