Hi, friends. Arriving at LAX Nov. 1st and leaving Nov. 5th from PPH. I got a quote from Sanjay from Sunny's transportation based on the awesome reviews on here and Yelp, but $355 R/T for 6 people seems a bit expensive. Is that a fair price? He seemed super nice on the phone and gets great feedback, but I can't bring myself to pay $60/person!:scared:

I just requested a quote from DK's Livery (Lanksy) and am hoping for something cheaper. I know we can do the Greyhound Disneyland Express for about $150 R/T, but if it's not that much more I'd rather do a private vehicle without the additional stops.

Anywhere else I should be checking? We do need the service to provide carseats for our 3 kids, so we are limited. We usually travel out of SNA, so I guess I was not expecting such a major expense for airport transportation!

Lansky has set rates from LAX to DLR. $180 r/t which includes tip. And they'll stop at the grocery store if you want. They also provide booster seats at no additional cost. We had 4 adults + 2 kids and lots of luggage and we fit in their suburban. The driver even meets you at baggage with a cart to load your stuff.

I'm going next week and I rented a car for about $205 for the entire week.

We're staying right next to the parks, but I want to be able to use the car to visit Hollywood and such on park off-days.

A rental for 6 people and 3 car seats (and OP would have to pack the car seats) would cost more.

Maybe the first quote was higher because that company doesn't use SUVs that seat 6. Try Lansky.

Ah...I'm remembering my own experience thinking "ooh, good price using Ontario airport!" and booking it without actually checking the costs of transportation. Ate up all of my savings.

In case you're looking up the actual costs, the Express is run by GrayLINE, not Greyhound. :)

There's also Karmel Shuttle, which is my personal favorite. I don't think they provide carseats, though.

Since you don't want to bring your own seats, I would just choose the Express, since it's a coach bus and those don't use seatbelts.

I was just looking at this for our trip coming up. I found a coupon on this site below for karmel shuttle & it was $44 per person from LAX. Also super shuttle rates aren't bad either. If you have AAA I think its cheaper with super shuttle. Both have good reviews on here. I have taken super shuttle from LGB & would do it again as the service was excellent. http://anaheimoc.org/coupons

This is true. I wasnt factoring in car seats. But this $205 rate is for a full size sedan for the whole week. I imagine you could get a similar deal on a minivan/suv, but I have no idea how the carseat thing works.

Thanks, all! The carseats are a huge hassle, and totally restrictive, so the coach buses and private transportation are the only way we can go right now. When I got the $355 quote, I did think for a second about just renting a car, but we're not leaving DL, and I'll have to pay $17 to park at PPH each day. :sad2:

I did get a quote from Lanksy, which was $180 roundtrip, so we're going to to go with that. Not sure why Sunny's was so expensive. He was actually quoting me for the same vehicle (Suburban), so I don't know why it was so much more. Wish I could have used him, but I'm not worried about Lanksy since they also have such good feedback on the DIS.

Bumbershoot, I actually saved over $100/ticket using LAX this time instead of SNA, so I'm still ahead of the game! But I definitely felt the same way about the transportation eating up my savings! :lmao:

I factor in several things when I choose which airport. Flight times become an important factor sometimes and other times it isn't. Price is always a factor for me. That includes ground transportation costs. So I factor that into which airport to fly into. This past January, flight times were a factor as well as cost. I chose LAX which had better flight times and prices, however, when it came down to it, I was only saving $10 per person.

We are trying Lansky's this upcoming trip.

How old are the kids, OP?

Looked back, I see it's 4, 2, and 2. Too little for bubblebum booster seats! Nevermind! :)

I booked with super shuttle the other day there and it was 64 dollars return for 2 people for a shared van.

I have seen those!!! I can't wait until they're all big enough for them! We are SO over carseats. ;)

After our trip last week DH is so over carseats too. We took ours to use on the plane and because I planned to rent a car. We took a cab from LAX to the Best Western Meridian and it was between 100 and 120 (not sure, DH paid). We used the rental car to get back to LAX. With pickup at Alamo in Downtown Disney and drop off at LAX it was cheaper than taking a cab. I'm hoping by next time we go the kids will be big enough for boosters but the reality is I'd rather deal with carseats and go sooner! ;)

Sorry for taking over the topic, but I'm still contemplating what shuttle I should use for my next trip.

I typically used Super Shuttle, but I was wondering if anybody knew of anything cheaper? I'm really just looking for the cheapest round-trip from LAX for 4 adults.

There is a coupon offering $4 per person each way on Karmel Shuttle. However, I priced it out and that would be $180 by the time you include the tip ($3 a bag, assuming 1 bag per person x each way = $24). Lansky has a $180 quote from LAX to Anaheim and is not a shared van. Those are the only situations that I've priced out. And can you tell I am an Auditor :rotfl:

I just returned from my trip & used Karmel Shuttle Service which was a complete disaster. First off I guess I should have read every detail in their paperwork because it specifically states you must call 48 hrs before your trip to confirm your reservation. Why this is I have no clue. I have used many shuttle services in many locations & have never had to confirm a reservation that I have already paid for & reserved. Of course I did not ready this until the day of my flight so, from the get go im shammed. I call & they say everything is fine & call after I get my luggage from my flight, which I do & then they tell me they will be there in about 15 minutes which was actually 30 minutes. We were picked up by a scary man who starred at us while driving & texting & taking off his seatbelt & driving down alleys which ultimately scared us. All in all it took us 2 hrs. To get to Anaheim because he took all these crazy routes through residential areas like we were touring the whole city. I will never hire this service again!! From now on I will stick to Supershuttle!!

We just returned from a trip last week and used Lansky. It was $95 from LAX to DLR and $85 for the return trip for the two of us. The quote I got said it was for a town car or Suburban, but in both cases the driver had a minivan (Honda Odyssey.) We paid when we made our reservation, but I don't think that info made it to the first driver, when I tipped him he said I needed to pay the full fare. Luckily I had a copy of my receipt. No issues with the second driver.
