Can anyone give me some feedback on Boatwrights?

We are having dinner here one night. The menu looked interesting. Any experiences?

Dinners are great there. The slow-roasted prime rib, jambalaya, and the grilled pork chop are all very good. You should have a meal to remember there and then be thinking about when you will be going back.

I just wish that they didn't stop serving breakfast there.

If you are staying at POR and are looking for a TS but don't want to travel too much, then Boatwright's is good enough to serve that purpose. It is not a place worth traveling for if you are not staying at POR. The food is fine, not awful but by no means is it something to write home about. I would take a boat down to DTD for dinner before eating there, but as I said, if you are staying at POR and looking for a TS meal without traveling, it's fine. Other than that it's not really worth it.

I have not been there but planning on trying it when we stay at the POFQ in Oct....the menu looks good but the reviews have been pretty bad. I want to try it for myself though

Yes, split stay, 3 days POFQ and 4 days Beach club.

This is for a day when MK is open till 2am. We plan on hitting MK at rope drop-ish. Then coming back to the resort mid afternoon for lunch, nap, and a swim.

Finally, dinner @ Boatwrights at 6:00pm before heading to MK to try and close the park.

We love those late night EMH at MK. We have closed the park at 3 a couple of times. Its a lot of fun.

With that being said, I would still suggest either eating in the food court at POFQ or somewhere in MK or on the Monorail loop before going to Boatwright's. There are much much much much better options out there, IMO.

Dh, my two daughters, and I dined there a little over a year ago. Didn't like it. Food was dry and a bit bland. Neither of us finished our meal. JMO though.

This is the last day Sunday May 29th, I dont have solid dining plans. I have been trying to get Ohana for over a month to no avail.

I tend to think that negative reviews come from people who who don't like the decor/theming. The really isn't anything special about how it is decorated, and it is relatively un-Disney. With that said, I had the best steak of my life there, albeit years ago. I haven't been back since, though we keep saying we are going to.

I actually kind of like the decor and theming. The food just isn't that good, IMO.

We ate there one night before catching the boat to DTD to see La Nouba. It was alright, but we wouldn't make a special trip over there to eat. My husband and I had the crawfish bites and steak which were really good and my mom liked her pork chop. However, we all had pecan pie and it was really bad. My husband loves pecan pie and since we have two huge pecan trees in our yard, I always have alot of pecans in my freezer and so cook pecan pies frequently. The ones at Boatwrights none of us could eat. The top was burnt and way too hard, and the filling had a strange texture and flavor. It tasted like they put flour in the filling.

We ate there in September for the first time and really liked it. I had purposely not booked one TS meal because we were going to try to walk into Le Cellier right at opening. But that particular day we were all exhausted so we went back to POR for a swim and then walked into Boatwright's for dinner that night. It was really good and low key. We would definitely go again.

I love it! The pasta dish I had was great, the cornbread is some of the best I've ever tasted, and DH had steak, which he liked better than Le Cellier.

My husband and I love it. We stay at POR most times when we stay however we would go out of our way to go there. If you like cajun food they have a great menu.

I love their cornbread. We are hading back there on arrival day this fall. We can't wait. Both DH and I loved our last meal there. He had the jambalya and I had pasta. So good. I also loved the pecan pie. Yummy.

Yeah, we ate there while staying at POFQ back in January. Two adults and two children. We actually thought it was pretty good. Because ADR's were hard to get during the New Year, we decided to eat here as it was easy to get into. I was worried it would be terrible, based on reviews here.

We were pleasantly surprised. I had the blackened fish with stewed green tomatoes. I thought this was awesome actually. Touch of spice and the tomatoes were great! The wife had the VooDoo Chicken, which she ordered for the black-eyed peas and collard greens. Chicken was actually pretty good, and not dry at all.

Kids were happy as well. I don't remember the desserts at all, so take that how you will, but I'm not really a dessert person either.

I tend to agree with most that I don't know I'd make a special trip out here just for the food, but if you are in the area it's not bad at all.

I *would* make a special trip for the beignets over at Sassagoula's though.

Ny hubbie and I ate there this past fall. It was one place that we weren't really sure of. However, we loved it. The food was good and the resort is beautiful. We'll be going back this fall. Can't wait.

POR is our go-to mod for many years now. And you can usually get a table at Boatwrights when we get a whim to go to Dis for a night on short notice. We last popped in early Dec. for a night at POR and the food was just fine. I've also read lots of bad reviews of Boatwrights, but we have always had good luck there. It is a convenient full service option. It may be a bit pricey if not on the DP for some folks. And yes, the cornbread is a fave of ours too.

We ate there on a whim in 2007 when our dd was too sick to go to Epcot for our ADR that night. We were staying at POFQ. We thought the food was very good but we had quite possibly the slowest server ever for that meal. That was our only complaint, though, the dinner itself was excellent.
