We won't be making it to DL until February at the earliest (may go to WDW instead) but our brick was supposed to be placed last month. Would anyone PLEASE be able to take a picture for me??

It is located at C38 357 and says Stephen Family, Steve Amy, Macy, Kinsey Jackson.

Thank you!!

I'm 'planning' to go in Sept. w/my g-son.I know it's a little ways away, and i'm sure someone else will beat me to punch.Besides it will give me good excuse to get my camera fixed. ;)

I may be going on Sunday the 25th. But will definately be going on Friday the 30th to see the additions to POTC and the new Cafe Orleans restuarant.

I will take a picture for you and I'll PM you after I take it.

We fly out on the 25th, we're hitting DCA when we land, I'll write this down and try to remember to snap a photo for you.

Looks like you'll have someone to take pictures for you sooner then we would go (July 9th). :)

Question though! How do you get a brick, and what does it cost? I've always wanted to do that too! :)

How cool! I was looking for information on this for a friend, and could not find it on the website. Do you have any more info?

To order a brick you can contact the Magical Memories office at (800) 760-3566. They are $150, but I know they had discounts for annual passholders and Disney VISA members.

Thanks again everyone!

I'm trying to get there on the 25th too, so I can do some Fairy Godmailing, I'll gladly get a picture for you too!

Wow, sounds like it may be crowded...

Is this your brick?
I'm not sure how else to get this to you.

Disboard members always amaze me with their generousity. It really makes you feel like you're part of an insane family. Way to go Califgirl :thumbsup2

Amy--How long did it take between placing your order and them placing the stone? I'm so, SO close to buying one. . . but I'm all about instant gratification! Was it 6 months? More? Less? :confused3

This is how goofy I am--I actually teared up at seeing YOUR stone! I'm thinking to myself, "How cool is THAT?!" closely followed by "You know, Self, if you had bought one in December, I bet it would be there when you go back after Thanksgiving this year. . ." :hourglass **HEAVY SIGH**

I think it was about 3 or 4 months for us. We placed our order in December, and I think it was in by March. You might be able to buy one now and it may be there by the time it is installed. If I remember correctly when we called to order ours we were given a rough time estimate of when they would be installed.

Oh That is beautiful!!! WTG Califgirl, how awesome that you took that for her! How do you find them do they give you a map as to where they are???
Is it located at the entrance? where you stand in line, is that where they would put it? I would love to get one of those, but just getting back from there and upgrading, after spending all the $ we did, I might have to wait.
Does anyone know how long you have to order them? at least w/the 50 logo on it? sorry for the ?'s & thanks for the info....

Dale-n-Chip, I am the same way, I got all teary eyed seeing THEIR brick, now I want one for us :)

Aww, that's so neat! How cool for you guys!

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the bricks were only "temporary," almost like a lease or something. Is that still true? If so, do you get to keep the brick after they take it up?

The bricks are between the entrance gates before you enter the parks - closer to the Disneyland side, but there is lots of room to expand all the way to the DCA Entrance.

The bricks are in groups and it is pretty easy to find any particular brick.
First you find the Letter "C-38" in this instance, and that entire group of bricks all start with C-38. then you follow the numbers (diagonally - you can just barely see 356 above and to the right in the picture) until you find the correct number.

We have a brick C-11 something, once I get there I can find it with ease.
The bricks may be considered temporary, but they are paving bricks and I don't see any reason for them to remove them. When you order your brick you get a really nice commemorative certificate suitable for framing.

It is really fun to read some of the messages and special occasions that the bricks celebrate.

WOW thanks for all the info Califgirl! that is great to know! that is the spot where I thought they were located but I was not sure if there was another location for them or what?
The certificate sounds really cool too, I would definately frame it :)
Yeah I would have to agree I see no reason that they would need to remove the bricks either, unless they were changing things around....wouldn't that be a bummer though to get a brick and then have them remove it suddenly, LOL..... they should give the option of letting us pay to have it shipped to us if that ever happens :) (I know probably asking too much though)

When we were there and in line we were all admiring the bricks! I think I might splurge and buy one for our family :)

Thanks again for the info, I really appreciate it :)

Gotta love the generosity of people on this board.

We just bought ours in mid July and along with the certificate you also have the option of purchasing ($35.00 extra) a replica made out of either wood or plastic your choice. They told us to expect our real brick to be installed mid November. I think the whole temporary thing is more of a disclaimer to cover them just in case they need to remove them.
