Can Anyone Confirm This? (refurbishment news)

Don't want to give too much false hope, but looking at DisneyWorld.com, it looks like the TTA and Astro Orbiter refurbs may have been postponed to a start date on June 2 (lucky for us considering our MK day is June 1). This applies for both, but I can't quite nail an end date. It seems to be sometime around mid September for Astro but can't tell for TTA.

Regardless, this may be a glitch, but I'm pretty confident about this info. Last year, a Carousel refurb was scheduled during our trip, but I saw on the Disney site that it had been postponed, and a week or so later, the postponement showed on WDWMAGIC and other Disney sites.

Are there any TAs out there who can confirm this change on the TA refurb calendar. Thanks!

Your post is the first I've seen anything about the date being delayed. We're going to be there the first week of May and I sure hope it's true.
We always include the People Mover -- every trip, every time we're at Magic Kingdom.
However, I haven't yet checked for any lists of attractions that are scheduled for overhaul, refurb, etc. I'll do that a few days before we leave.

I checked on the official disney site and when you select dates in May is shows operating hours? It says no times available for June. Could this mean it's right? I sure hope so.

Well....I was hoping for a later delay....we won't be there until June 7th and in my 6 previous trips I have still never made it onto Astro Orbiter for some reason. I was hoping to make it on this trip, until I saw news of the refurb.

I would think that the AO would receive a new entrance system. Those small elevators are not cutting it. Last Tuesday night we waited longer on AO than we did Space mnt.

I don't believe the elevators are an issue with the wait time. It's just a low capacity ride.

Weird how guest services is different than WDW.com. I'm going to be a pessimistic optimist here and expect it to be closed yet hold out some hope that WDW.com is right and it will close on June 2.

Same here, I am so excited to hear that it will be opened when we are there . It wouldn't be a WDW vacation without riding TTA a couple of times during our MK days. This is also something that DH and I like to ride a few times while waiting for our girls to get off of Space Mountain. I am such a happy camper right now .
