I have a thread on the restaurant board that has gone without a reply for a few days, and I've called the given number twice and left my phone, but have not heard. Is this program for real and will it be around in September. I have 3 friends who would love to do it with me!

"Dine with an Imagineer" program
According to The Disney Food Blog, Walt Disney World has developed a new program at Animal Kingdom Lodge based on their popular "Dine with an Imagineer" program at Hollywood Studios. Currently in a trial phase, "Dine with Animal Specialists: An Untamed Lunch" is being offered at Sanaa on Wednesdays from 11:30 am - 1:15 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to dine with and ask questions of one of Disney's animal experts while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Lodge's savanna.

The meal consists of four courses (there is a children's menu available) and is limited to 12 guests. The program is $49 for adults and $29 for kids age 3-9; tax and an 18% required gratuity are not included. Price does include a $5 contribution to Disney's Worldwide Conservation Fund. To book, call 407-938-4755 .

At this point, could someone ask at either Sanaa or at the desk, PLEASE?!

Yes, but they have not called me back. I am not staying cocierge, maybe that's why. I have now left a message at the Sanaa;s nimber too!

I believe they are the ones that book the Wanyama Safari which is open to all AKL/AKV guests. You could try and e-mail them.

I saw Burnt Toast's original post on the restaurant board and was reminded we were told last Fall they were thinking of making the luncheon an "event." We know one of the animal keepers and had asked him if could do a program for us (we were having our Bi-annual Undisneyana convention and had a large group). When I responded to Burnt Toast's post, I mentioned that they shared information on a recent trip to Africa. One of the things they did was take pictures the feet of different animals to compare to Disney's animals to make sure wear and tear was the same as in the wild.

We made our October reservations through him/her. When they first announced this tour, they were only taking reservations through concierge (even if you weren't staying concierge (which we aren't)).

It isn't yet an event on Disney Dining as the one that takes place in DHS is. Maybe they don't do it any more. I have now e-mailed as well!! Thank you so much for the help I've received.

Over the weekend, I had a message on my home phone from the planning people at AKV. Finally they responded to my calls and they noted that as they looked at the schedule I WAS ALREADY BOOKED (with my 3 DGFs!)! So, our fellow Disboarder Burnt Toast is the real thing...I thanked him in a PM. And also, yes THANK YOU DVC Disboard people, you got me to the right place!

We had this experience on Wednesday, and we all enjoyed it. We had Britteny, this was her first presentation, and Chris joined her. 11 guests were attending including a very well behaved 2-3 year old. Of the four of us, 2 would go back to Sanna for a meal, the other 2 wouldn't, but we all really enjoyed the desserts!
