What are the local places of interest? Good places to eat? Oh and my little one wants to know if the lakes have Croc's?

Hampton Lakes Estates is located on Hwy. 27 just south of State Road 192. The community is set among the rolling hills and has remarkable views of the Walt Disney World and surrounding areas. Also being located close to major thoroughfares, residents and visitors can enjoy easy access to Disney (15 minutes), Downtown Orlando (30 minutes) and other area attractionsThe places to eat will be back along the 192 and close by are lake louisa 27n

Can't help with your main questions, but I can comment on the Alligators

There can be 'gators <i>everywhere</i> though they really don't like people so keep their distance. That said, I've seen one sitting sunning himself slap-bang in the middle of a Disney Resort (Coronado Springs) so they certainly get around. I always look out the bus or car window when driving just to look for critters - gotten to see 'gators, armadillo's, wild turkeys...I love it, LOL!
