Can any CM at Disney put a package in your room??

I would LOVE for some "things" to be put into the room before we arrive. If I ship a box to the hotel ahead of time. Are any Cast Members allowed to open the box with my permission and put the items in our room before we check in?? Does anyone know? or has anyone done this?

I think the best thing to do would be to call your resort directly and ask them if this can be done. Then you'll know for sure.

My guess is no. They won't want to be held responsible for the items being there ahead of time.

They may let you try and sneak them the items at check-in and then you could stall everyone while they set it up and try to surprise people that way.

The resorts have runners that work from the back office area. They are the ones that deliver items to a guest room. Talk to the front desk. It is possible they will agree to have a runner put something in your room. Don't expect just any CM to be able to do so.

I was thinking of doing something similar. I am thinking of mailing it before we go then after checking in sneak out of the room claiming to go on an ice run to fill ice bucket or something just to excuse myself. Then go back and ask about the premailed package. Then create a story that the ice machine wasn't working and when I went to inform the CMs they said that Mickey heard that this was your first visit and had a welcome gift for everyone( or the children) depending on if can afford to get the adults something.

Folks, the thing to remember is that you will be at the mercy of the CM. It isn't that they won't want to help you, but they have a lot of other tasks besides running items such as yours to your room. I'm sure they will be glad to do it, but it will be on their time schedule. In the past, when I've delivered gift baskets, some got to the guests almost immediately after check-in. Others, took several hours. It all depends on how busy the runners are.

If you really want something in your room at a specific time, it is best to work out a way to put it there yourself.

I thought nothing could be put in a room before a party arrived anyway, because rooms weren't assigned until check-in? (to avoid a situation where maybe a room was assigned but the people in the room were late checking out, or the room hadn't been cleaned, etc.).

If that's the case, then the OP's question is moot, right?

You are correct. Nothing can be put in your room prior to check-in unless you are staying club level.
