Can an 11 yr. old still order off kids menu?

The last time we were at WDW DS was 9. Now he's 11 but such a picky eater! I wouldn't mind paying for an adult meal--if he would eat it. But the fact is, some of our favorite spots to eat (aka Sci-Fi--just for the atmosphere really)are going to be off limits to us, because there is NOTHING on the regular menu that he will eat or that I am willing to purchase only to have him pick at it and move it around on his plate. Has anyone had trouble having a child this age still order from the kid's menu? DD will be with on her first trip--she will be 2, almost 3. Should I order a kid's meal for her and give it to DS?
Please don't flame me for this---my older son, who was 11 last trip, ordered off the adult menu and ate fine. It's just this one that is giving me a problem!!!

Though I'm not sure how the pricing always works, my sister age 16 last trip, still ordered chicken fingers at some places but she did get adventurous at times and order just plain chicken...oy . As far as I know, no restaurant in WDW has ever given her a problem though, like I said, I'm not sure if they charged more for it than normal.

I was having the same issue. We are on the DDP and my son will have just turned 10. I paid for him as an adult, but truly he eats like my 8yo (they are exactly the same size). I asked a wonderful CM at guest services about this. She said by all means he can order off the child's menu. Or she said in our case with the DDP to have our 3DS split 2 children's meal. Anyways she said that most restaurants will let younger children 10-14 and older people order off the kid's menu. I do know of some adults ordering kids meals because they just don't eat a lot. I don't think that it will be a problem. Hope this helps.

My DS16 ordered off the kids menu at kids prices.

I still order off of the kids menu and I'm eighteen! Most restaurants don't seem to have a problem with it.

When we were at SciFi in Sept DD12 asked if she could order a burger off the kids meal because she didn't like the adult burger's bun. Waiter said "No Problem" Funny thing is when she was younger she couldn't wait to order off the adult meal and now she wants to go back to the kids meal. We were also charged the kids price.

We were there in December and DD(11), who is very picky, was allowed to order off the kids menu at Rose & Crown and Sci-Fi. She was charged the kid's price, too. She also had the kids chicken fingers(tenders) at CRT, but we did have to pay the adult price for that one.

Again, I'm very relieved! Adult price for kids chicken tenders--OUCH! But...at least she was happy, right?
