We are coming over in the Autumn and got a very good deal on a Deluxe Resort and the dining plan and we are getting close to the time when we can start booking.

We have two kids 12 and 4, the eldest would be happy to have the kids menu and the youngest is a fussy eater. In table service restaurants would it be possible for our eldest who is an adult at Disney to have the kids meal and then just order some fries for the the youngest and pay for them separately?

I do realize that we wont be able to do this for character meals or buffets.

The main reason for asking is that if we can do this 2 or 3 times we would have enough credits for an extra table service meal to fill in the gap when we have blown 2 credits on a meal!

I also presume that using counter service we can just order whatever we like as long as we have the credits?

Thanks

Steve

Sort of.

You'll have no problem ordering 2A/1C meals (since your card will say 3A/1C, and you can order fewer meals than people on the card), and you can share the food any way you want for your party.

Just remember that you can't order more than 3 adult or 1 child meal at any given time, so bear that in mind when planning on using the extra credits.

Excellent!

Thanks just what I needed to know.

We are planning on using the extra credits for either a dinner show or a Cinderella Castle meal or with careful planning both.

You should probably be sure to save 2 kids credits for that. Obviously adults can't use kids credits for these, but I don't know if they'd let you use 4 sets of adult credits when there are only 3 adults on your key card, even if one set is to be used for the child.

Hoop Dee Doo Review is a great Dinner Show, it does cost 2TS credits.

For princesses you could do Akershus which is only 1TS credit. You get your photo taken with Belle (CRT you get Cinderella). I prefer Akershus over CRT.

They way you are planning on the kids eating you can easily save up a couple of adult credits. You may need to pay out of pocket for one of the TS kids meals (not buffet or family style) if you want to get another TS in to use up the extra credits.

When I go for 2 weeks we usually only do one 2TS credit meal. This year I haven't booked any-we will do all 14 TS meals. I didn't want to do HDDR for a third year in a row.

For the CS you also have a lot of options depending on how much everyone eats. For a lunch CS some days you might be able to share 2 adult CS meals. Other days you may need to add in a child's CS meal. The extra adult CS could be used at breakfast along with a few snack credits and everyone gets a sampling of food.

We are a family that shares meals at every option. This allows us to utilize CS for some breakfast times as well. The flexibility of how you use your credits are endless. We did CRT as well.
I also enjoy ultra planning, so I created a spreadsheet listing each ADR and how many credits we would spend at each. It gave me great peace of mind knowing we would have plenty of food (we did not pay out of pocket) for any of our meals.
