I've been doing such a great job with changing my diet and eating smaller portions (lost 10 pounds in just over one month!), I don't want to blow my new, healthier habits while on vacation. I also detest wasting food.

At the Universal and CityWalk restaurants, do they allow adults to order from the children's menus? I'm most interested in being able to order the smaller steak meals that are on a few of the menus.

TIA! :goodvibes

I don't know of any laws in the books that prohibit you from ordering a meal from the children's menu. If you are paying the asking price, you are not "ripping off" the restaurant. And besides, most meals on the "adult" menus are over-priced AND are served in portions that are way too large for the average person. Some of these meals could feed two people. In non-sitdown restaurants, my wife and I often split a full-portion meal.

I can't see it being an issue with counter service restaurants but you may run into a problem with table service.

If they will not let you order off the kids menu you can always ask them to box up half the meal before they even bring it out to you. That way you won't accidentally eat too much.

Some of the table service resturants will charge a fee to order off the children's menu. When we were there last month at Margarittaville the table next to us ordered off the kids menu with no problem and my sister did that at the Pool Bar at RPH.

I have a very small appetite and I'm an annual passholder. I do it all the time when I go to Universal, it works out great!

I was wondering as well. It looks like it's mostly fish and shepard's pie at Three broomsticks. (which I don't like) So I was wondering how the chicken strips kids meal is and if I just ordered that. Are there reg food for adults besides what I mentioned?

They also have chicken, ribs and turkey legs.

Hope that helps! DH and I plan on splitting the chicken and ribs platter since the kids and I just nibble. There will be more than a full adult meal left over for him.

I have had the chicken finger meal at Three Broomsticks twice. I think it's pretty good. I believe you're supposed to get your choice of two sides (I believe your options are applesauce, grapes, and wedge fries) along with the chicken.

I had three pieces of chicken, probably no bigger than an index finger in length, along with grapes and wedge fries.

It's filling if you aren't extremely hungry.
