Can AAA 5-Day Hoppers be upgraded to AP?

I have a friend who is selling the balance of their 5-day Hopper. They purchased their tix through AAA. I definitely want to use them to upgrade to a SoCal AP. Is this doable? I know regular hoppers are upgradable as long as there is time left on them, but AAA too? How much of a discount does AAA get typically (so I can figure out how much will apply to the So Cal AP..maybe I can get a Deluxe )?

I know the AP active date will go back to the first day the pass was used, but for the discount it's worth it to me.

Tickets can be upgraded while they are still active, so while they have days on them AND are inside of 14 days from first use.

Tickets are NOT transferable.

When upgrading, the CMs have been known to ask many many questions about the previous use of the ticket. What park first, what park next, etc etc etc. We were never asked those questions, but others here have been nearly "grilled" over the usage of the tickets. This is done because tickets are NOT transferable.


If you bought tickets from AAA and wanted to upgrade to an AP during your trip, yes you could do it and get an AP.

FYI, you do not save any discount you got on tickets. You will always pay the difference between the AP you want and what you *paid for* the tickets.

However, in this case, tickets aren't transferable.
