I hear you about pool time. I'm hoping to get a few afternoons to relax by the pool w/ alcohol as well.....
I'm detecting a theme here.

And for us it's not just a few afternoons but EVERY afternoon.![]()

If I know I'm not going to a park early, I usually spend an evening or two at ESPN Club. After 10 years of going there, they actually know me by name. Is that a bad thing?
Otherwise, the afternoon to early evening imbibing usually does the trick--especially when touring Epcot.
Top Ten WDW Hidden Gems
You know what I am looking forward to most at WDW? Relaxing....yup, I said it, relaxing.![]()

I know that WDW and relaxing are two words that are not usually used in the same sentence, but in my world, no WDW vacation is complete w/o a little down time.
I've come to love certain places around WDW that allow me to kick back and enjoy being on vacation. Here's my top ten in random order:
10. Bellevue Lounge at the Boardwalk Resort. It's a bar (can't get too far from the booze) that is quiet and relaxing. They also have board games and we've played Scrabble there a few times. Who stops long enough to play a board game at WDW? We do because that's how we roll.
9. Solarium Room at BC. It's a room with several comfortable chairs and couches that NO ONE ever uses. I've just sat (or actually laid down) in there for no good reason other than to relax and take a breather.
8. The Bridge to Nowhere at Pop Century. After the pool bar, Petals, closed, I would often walk (stumble) out to the bridge that was supposed to connect the 2 sections of Pop. It never gets used, but there are several benches that overlook Hourglass Lake. It would be the perfect ending to the day. Just sitting enjoying the view of the lake.....I would stay there until I had to go wee.![]()

7. Hammocks at CBR. Although I haven't stayed here in awhile. I will always remember the hammocks especially since I once fell asleep in one. So relaxing.
6. Keystone Clothiers at MGM. No place to really sit in here. It's my favorite store at MGM. I can just go in there and browse to see what new T-shirts, etc to purchase.....I usually spend a good 30-45 minutes just in this store. Nothing relaxes me like spending some of my hard earned cash.
5. The Indoor Hallway behind the Character Connection/Club Cool. Not many benches back here. However, when it's really hot outside, I usually duck in here w/ a pop and just chill for 30 minutes or so, people watching.
4. The Aviaries in either Pangani Forest Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek. I'm not into birds. I'm not particularly into animals. But put that card in my hand w/ all the bird pictures on it and I can't leave until I've seen most of them...... However, what it really does is gimme a break from commando touring....

3. Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon. Innertube, river, sleep. Need I say more?
2. ESPN Club. Man = sports, booze, pub grub.
1. Any bench facing Crescent Lake on the Boardwalk. Just sitting on any bench here for any length of time reminds me that yes, I am on vacation at WDW.![]()
Wow. I need to spend more time realxing when I'm at WDW. I need to spend more time relaxing. Period. Maybe you can help me out with htis, Jordy, because you seem to have it down to an art form.
Maybe we can do a few of these together in February!!!!![]()
Relax...at disneyworld????? Me no understand.
The most relaxation I got was in the dentist chair!
The cab ride over wasn't relaxing?![]()
DH and I would be perfectly happy just riding a few rides and then sitting in pretty spots people watching. That is where a lot of the magic is for us. We love to mix and mingle with the world all in one spot.
The great thing about the Epcot resorts (BC, YC, BWI etc)...you can have open containers of booze. So sitting on a bench w/ a brew or mixed drink is extra relaxing...or sleep inducing.![]()
I am perfectly happy to do the same...![]()
#7, yes those rule, and they are really never busy, if you sit on the right side of the lake, you can see some of the Illuminations show from laying in the hamocks.Top Ten WDW Hidden Gems

Well, that is a big check mark in the "pro" column for the Epcot resorts!! I do love my open containers!!

#5Very nice quite place, when we were at Epcot our last day there was a NASA exhibit set up, and it was still quite, maybe 5 people in there.
#3 better than BB's lazy river, no ice cold water to wake you up when sleeping, you can almost dodge all of them at TL
#2we must eat nachos her sometime together.
#1 sounds good, but also the benches on the pier at CR later in the day are great, the boat goes between a few resorts there and MK, but people usually always take the monorail, to lazy to walk outside there.
Heck almost any of the piers at those resorts are great,
I'm afraid that if I tried to take a nacho off your plate, my hand would get gnawed off....
I would not bit it all the way off, just the part that was holding the nacho, so you might only loss 2 fingers.
