Geeze, what do ya have to do to get Disney's attention these days ?

We haven't got a PIN in years and we go several times a year. Maybe that's just it, we actually go.

Anywho, just a vent. Pity party for 1 : I wanna PIN

Right now we're booked at full rack rate for everything, room, tickets, dining, etc.

Of course we have slim to no chance of getting any discount due to our date, which are set in stone from DH's employer Dec 26th- Dec 29th.

DH and I have AP's, so if nothing comes out, we could at least have our 4 day MYW tix set aside and use them as a credit for when we renew next year.

Would really really like a room discount, or for the YES program to say if they are doing classes this winter. That would make it a little easier to figure this all out.

We could then at least get a small break on the room cost. If we can get the YES, then we will take the tix off, move it to a room only RSVP and get the TIW card when we get there.

why do you have 4 day MYW tickets if you have APs? Kinda confused If you are doing tickets to get dining just bring them down to 1 day and upgrade anybody that needs more than that after you enter your first park. Will save a little $$ anyways.

YES doesn't do classes over that winter break do they? I've never seen them. I thought their classes for the year were already up on their site. I'm waiting for next year's dates myself so I check it quite frequently.

With that being prime season I highly doubt you will see anything :( Stinks I know. Do you have AAA? If they have any discounts available it would be worth buying. You can call to check if they have discounts available first before your buy. If they do you can buy right then on the phone.

Not impossible, but unlikely that you will find a deal for those dates. If u have to have dining, I would also bump the tickets down to 1 day base tickets for future use.

Disneyland publised YES classes in Dec. But others said they have called YES DisneyWorld and have been told no classes past Oct, so , who knows, I've never used YES before, so I could very well, be waiting for nothing, :lmao:

we have 4 days MYW for a few reasons

1. I haven't changed them down yet, lol, it was what we originally booked back in April, before DH and I got our AP's a few weeks ago.

2. DH and I just got our AP's a few weeks ago on our Adults only trip.

3. We have 3 kids, 12,6&5. So 1 adult, 2 kids tix needed back.

The entire trip is paid in full. I haven't run the numbers yet, but if we do bump the tix down to 1 day for all, we will then have to get a refund, and then re-purchase the kids tix. Really, all it would save is the difference between mine and DH's 4 day MYW price down to a 1 day price.

(DH grumbles about the price of AP, it may be worth my benifit, to keep the 4 day MYW as a credit when we renew? DH dosen't keep up with the ins and outs and xyw, he just wants to see the final cost at purchase)

The lowest # of days tix I see UT is 3 days, get 1 free, which is 1 more day than we need, if we just drop our package down to 1 day tix to keep dining. I guess we could try and do a few hours in a park in the morning before driving back to SC.

On the other hand, why would I pay to have double tix, overlaping 1 day ?

If we take the tix off entirely, then dont you lose the "package" and thus lose your ADR's? I really dont want to try and scramble to try and get them back.

Then there is TIW which would be ok, it dosen't seem to cover all the places we normally eat. With the kids we always do 1 character meal a day, we have H&V b-fast, Tusker house b-fast, 1900 dinner and chef mickey dinner, so TIW would help on that end. But even if we pay OOP with the TIW each buffet would cost almost the same as getting the reg dining for the kids per day.

Like i said, I just wanna PIN, lol

I'm confused by your ticket comments.

1 - yes, you have to keep at least a one day ticket to keep your dining.
2 - not sure why you are looking at UT tickets at all at this point since you have more than enough tickets already, don't you? If you bumped the ticket down to 1 day for all in the party, and you need longer tickets for some in your party, you just add the extra days at the park - the price is the same.
3 - if you keep your 4 day ticket, then yes, you could upgrade it to renew your AP and it would cost you less than if you were upgrading a 1 day ticket, but then it's just costing your more money now vs. later. If that doesn't matter, then I would leave it as is, but I was trying to think of ways to make your upcoming trip less expensive, since it's such an expensive time to go anyway.

You would not lose your ADRs if you dropped the dining plan or even cancelled your reservation entirely. They are not connected in that way.

As for TiW/dining plan/no dining plan - I couldn't speak to any of that - it all depends on what you are doing on your trip and what works for you. I will mention that TiW would be valid on 12/26-29 (it is blacked out on Christmas Day), the prices for all fixed price type locations will be higher during your dates - the holiday surcharge, and the DDP will also cost more during those dates than most other times of the year as well. So from that holiday standpoint, you're not really benefiting to pick one over the other if you're doing multiple character meals or fixed price meals.

Chiming in here as a non pin receiver. We went to disney yearly between 03 and 07. Never got a pin. My sister went for the first time in january, and received her 3rd pin yesterday. Yes, 3 pins in one year. Luckily since shes sharing a room with us, we were able to use her pin, but having one come to my inbox would be so nice!

Actually, AP holders can book a package with the dining plan without buying tickets. So you could also try changing to a package that way & paying for tickets for your kids seperately. I just don't know if they could just convert your current reservation to an AP package or if they would have to cancel & rebook. If they need to ancel & rebook, you would have to get the current package creditted & pay for the new one. Don't know if that's worth it to you. But keep your eyes open for an AP discount anyway.

forgot about the ticketless AP Pkg

I'd do that and just buy your tickets at UT or at Disney separately.

There's a big difference between 1 day tickets and 4 day tickets at Disney if you decide to keep Disney Tickets. That's a nice chunk of change back. It's $257 for a 4 day vs $89 for a 1 day

I see YES classes thru Dec 15th sorry I thought you knew they were already scheduled through then not ending in October

This is true but to get that ticketless AP package w/dining you must have an AP rate room or a rack rate room. So unless AP rates come out for the OP's dates (what she's hoping) that package won't work vs. a room-only discount or free dining.

Longish story short -- given your dates, I don't see much coming down the pike by way of discounts for those dates.

Disney would have be MAJORLY underbooked.. that's not to say it could NEVER happen.. but in all my years watching this stuff.. I can count the Christmas dates discounts on the missing finger my grandpa lost at the sawmill.

:(

Long shot but look into renting DVC points. Google it, there is a guy that has a site that rents points. You can even add dining to that without ticket purchase.

It's virtually impossible to rent DVC at this point unless MAYBE there's something at OKW or SSR. You can try Daves but unless you find somebody with a reservation already they want to get rid of you probably won't find DVC

Who cares at this point if they get an AP pkg at rack rate. They are already paying rack rate so they won't be out anything except having to buy tickets for 2 people that don't need them in order to get dining

I'd rebook as an AP ticketless pkg with dining and just buy the extra tickets you need from Undercover Tourist

That's why I said "a long shot" but was thinking of Dave's. OP would have a better chance of renting points then a discount during her time frame

I agree with that statement. Both are a long shot though I'm afraid.

Anyways on the plus side what a great day after Christmas present :goodvibes

Yes, I know. But OP currently has a package @ full rack rate & is buying tickets she doesn't need, just to get the dining plan. I was just pointing out an option where she wouldn't have to buy tickets too. Of course a discount of any sort would be better than rack rate & I hope 1 gets released for all those waiting!!!
