Im just curious because I have a friend that was a face character but she said she was only in parades. Like, A Christmas Fantasy, Pixar play parade, and fantasmic. Can a face character can be just a parade performer and not a character performer?

Yes usually face characters that do parades are more skilled at dancing than they are at social skills/personal interaction. Some have said the ones in the parades are considered "less attractive" by casting. That's just hearsay though from a few I've talked to in entertainment and some character attendants. They all look gorgeous to me. That doesn't mean that the character they are playing in the parade is not also seen in the parks, but that character is being played by a different person in the parks. To be a face character, aesthetics are highly scrutinized by casting - you've got to have good bones. Once I auditioned to be Cinderella's Step-Sisters, they told me I did very well, the casting reps were laughing (and usually they don't show any emotion). They called me back and were in talks of hiring me for one of the Step-Sisters but in the end they told me I didn't have a pretty enough face. :crazy2: 🤣

I imagine that would be a good position for someone who looked the part but had a strong regional accent that she (or he) was unable to conceal.
