Can a CM split my reservation into two?

Hello everyone. I am booked from Oct 19th-Nov 3rd right now and it seems like it might be easier if we stayed off site on Oct 30th and Oct 31st. My hotel is booked up. Could a CM split my reservation into Oct 19th-Oct 30th and Nov 1st-Nov 3rd for me? I would pay a second deposit. I have FP booked, but not on those two dates.

No, they can't do that. They can drop nights at the beginning and end, but not in the middle.

Hm, so with my hotel being booked up, there would be no way to stay Nov 1st-3rd like I am with my current reservation unless I left it alone and stayed those two nights?

As others have indicated above it is not just a matter of splitting your reservation.

The current Disney reservation system is designed to avoid leaving orphan nights that Disney can't book for other guests. By splitting your reservation you would leave 2 nights in the middle of the week which is not a good revenue management practice.

Mostly a yield issue, plus there is low demand for “hollowed” trips.

That's even better for room management because the system will not assign the same room. Regular reservations do not allow for a room move in the middle of a stay.

The key is that in order to do what you want, they have to change your reservation to remove all the days at the end, including the ones you still want. Then they would have to re-book those days you do want to keep. If there is no availability still for your resort, then there is a chance when they go to do this that you will lose those nights during the switch. If you were willing to gamble and potentially lose those nights, then you could call and ask. The other piece is that once you make the change, and try to re-book those nights back, they will be eligible for whatever current rates or discounts as of now, and not what you may have gotten when you booked.

This.

I would also have a cast member do the change by phone rather that doing the cancellation/rebooking myself. If anything goes wrong, there is a greater chance they might be willing to fix it.
