Tomorrow is supposed to be 93 with a heat index of 107 by 1pm. My DH thinks he can keep DD3 safe as they go out to an airshow. I think the only way of keeping her safe is by her staying inside!

Sure they can!!

Keeping hydrated and hopefully they have an easy up awning for shade. Be just fine.

For what it's worth I do hot yoga. I work out in that heat!:)

Sure! Sunscreen with frequent reapplication, a hat, a stroller for rests, and plenty of water.

Water, sunscreen, hat, small hand held misting fan, umbrella stroller (light and easy to pack and carry) water, and of course water. :)

If you happen to have a frogg toggs cloth use that to line the stroller. I stay inside when it's over 95 if I can but we had a particularly hot summer two years ago my daughter was in camp which meant we had to drop off and pick up, so I'd I'd this and my son stayed much cooler!

We have about 4-5 months over 100, often over 110 where I live. No choice but to goout every now and then. Everyone has given you great suggestions so far. Just make sure she drinks even if she says she isn't thirsty.

Hydrate...use those pedialyte powder packets. Sunscreen, hat, and shade wherever you can find it. But hydration is most important, DD3 should be needing to go pee every half hour to hour if properly hydrated on a day like that.

Of course they can stay safe. The heat index has been over 100 for the last month here. We live with it from mid June to late August/ early September. The key is going to be staying hydrated and using a good sunscreen.

Of course they can! 3 year olds live all over the world - including places where it is routinely that hot. Hydration will be key. Make sure she keeps drinking water, even when she says she's not thirst. Other than that, I hope they have a great time at the air show!

We usually bring powered Pedialite and mix about 1/2 of the recommended amount into a bottle of water. It makes the water taste more appealing and also adds needed electrolytes.

If he can occasionally move off the tarmac and head for a grassy area, it's nearly always cooler in the grass.
