I really want to do the Backlot tour but dh thinks dd will be too young. I don't know. It has been YEARS since I have gone on the tour and so I don't really remember......what are your thoughts for age appropriateness for this tour ride?

We have taken our ds on this ride a few times and he really enjoyed it. The last time we were there he was 23mos old. One thing to remember, if you don't want to get wet during the "canyon" part of the tour, then make sure you're sitting on the Right side of the vehicle, next to the door.

hth and enjoy!

Yes, even tiny babies are allowed. There is one kinda scary part, when the canyon is on fire and water dumps down toward the ride vehicle. My kids always loved it, but I guess some could be scared. It is not dark or anything though. Is she easily scared??

DD (7) was fine DD (5) hated it! But we probably won't go again simply because scarriness aside, my kids just weren't thrilled with it! The driver talking about the Mickey Ear tower and how it is just for looks with no water, going through the costume building etc. was boring to them. I, of course realize not everyone would agree, this is just advice from my girls.

They did however love the Great Movie Ride

The Canyon was the only part that scared my DS3. He tolerated the rest but didn't really enjoy it.

My daughter's 6 and almost 3 at the time, did not like it. they were scared of the fire at the begninng and at the end. I will tried with them when we go again because they will be older.

DS, who was 23mo at the time, was okay with it. He wasn't scared, but he wasn't fully engrossed, either. We were lucky in that we had 7 adults with us who could keep him entertained. I doubt we'll take him on it when we go back next month, because DH and I would have to work so hard to keep him interested that we wouldn't get much out of the ride ourselves.

I took my son on this when he was 17 months. I nursed him to sleep at the beginning and tucked him in and covered his ear by time we got to the canyon part

had a lovely nap

We took DS on it when he was three - he thought it was okay. We actually went on it because he loves "rides" (which to him is just about anything moving) and because he was little there was not much to choose from at MGM. One word of advice - have your little one use the bathroom before getting in line if she's potty trained. It's not a short ride ;) .

We took DS on it twice...once at 9 months and again at 1.5. I don't think he loved or hated it. So, yes, I think a 2.5 yo can go. I will be taking him in 15 days at 2.5 on it!!

I will take my toddler on the ride, but make sure she is sat between myself and my DP, and on the right hand side so that we can hide her from the action if necessary.

If you do that, you should be fine!! :thumbsup2:

Same thing here! My dd7 was fine with it, but ds5 hated it! He was scared with the fire scene. I thought the ride was alot different years ago. It seems they cut lots of the tour out from past years.

The only really scary thing about the fire is that you are so close to it, and you feel the heat of it. My ds was really scared that we would catch on fire (and I couldn't convince him how safe he actually was).
